GOD this has been a boring two weeks....

Is it free agency time yet?

Combine?

Draft?

Daytona 500, hurry up and get here.

Spring training, let's get it going.

Watching cars go round and round and round just doesn't thrill me.
But to each his own i guess!

I had to find something to fill my idle time between February and April. It's actually pretty exciting when you wrap your mind around the fact that these cars are going 200 mph and driving 1/2 inch from one another. make them do this in a circle, and it's chaos.

It's months like these I wish I could afford a drum set and wish I didn't have to sell mine last year to make rent.

Well, I have great confidence in Aaron learning to play the position and working his ass off to be in the best shape to play it.

Chad Morton is going to be coaching...? Kick returners?

EDIT:

Chad Morton was added as the coaching administrator

What is a Coaching Administrator exactly?

I think Kampman will be fine. I mean what's job #1 of a 3-4 OLB? Putting pressure on the QB.

And I think we all can say he's pretty good at that.

Job #2 is run stoping.... I think he's do that every well for a LBer.

Job #3 pass cover.... Yeah that one may need a little work but he's got #1 and #2 down pat. And if the Packers play him in zone coverage the time he is in coverage than it's all about playing it smart which I think he's can do.

HA! See, you all laughed at me when I said Kampman would be OLB when I posted my Madden '09 scheme.

This will be good for him. I thought earlier that I envision him an outside pass rusher... pwerfectoooo

I think what's more interesting about this decision is who were going to have as our DE's.

It's glad to see the forum knows what's going on. I was listening to the radio today and really it's saddening to hear some people call in and criticize this move.

This was never in doubt. Either Aaron Kampman is an OLB or he isn't a Green Bay Packer in 2009. Not a chance you're asking him to put on 30 to 35 pounds and play DE either. For those complaining that he's 29 years old and cant make the move then look at Jason Taylor. Greg Ellis is another example. If college defensive ends can transition from a 4-3 to a 3-4 then Aaron Kampman can as well.

I said before he's going to be handicapped somewhat in the 3-4, but that doesn't mean he can't make the move. Kampman is as smart and has as good as instincts as any player on the front seven.

I think people need to understand that in Dom Capers 3-4 and just about every variation of the 3-4 you can think of, the pass rush comes from the outside linebackers. Not the defensive line. The two leaders in sacks this year will be or should be the outside linebackers.

That's why Aaron Kampman is making this move. That's why Jeremy Thompson will probably make the move and that's why Jason Hunter will probably make the move.

Cullen Jenkins will probably be forced to play one defensive end spot because of his size and strength.

Ryan Pickett at nose.

I think Johnny Jolly baring a suspension will move around between nose and defensive end. Same with Justin Harrell although the Packers will undoubtedly probably look for a DE via free agency or draft. Truth be told though they need a DE and OLB because I'm not sure it's on their roster.

Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : uh oh
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : Too bad camera's can't spot the ball as well.
Mucky Tundra (1-Apr) : So will the chain gang be gone completely or will they still be around as a backup or whatever?
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : The method for measuring first downs in the NFL will switch from chain gangs to camera-based technology in 2025, the league announced.
Martha Careful (1-Apr) : A big step in the right direction. Just put in the college system is very very good.
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : NFL has passed a rule that allows both teams to possess the ball in OT during the regular season
Zero2Cool (1-Apr) : Touchbacks on kickoffs will now bring the ball to the 35-yard line.
