25 teams contacted him about signing, fairly sure GB did their due diligence here. It wasn't his kid and he passed a lie detector test.... frankly the man got shafted IMHO. This country is founded on innocent until proven guilty by a jury of your peers.

Unfortunately too many times the media and self righteous judgmental types grab something like this and run with it. Mt guess is GB at least inquired to his agent about signing etc. My two cents

Sure he definitely didn't do the deed, but could have hired somebody to do it like the Carruth situation. Maybe he thought the kid was his? Dunno. Unfortunately for him the timing was awful having this all go down before the draft.

I still don't see how a team doesn't gamble a 7th round pick on the guy. Especially a team who needed OL help. Strange that he signed with Dallas, the team who least needs help on the OL.

Teams didn't want to draft him too high after the police said, he was NOT a suspect but they still wanted to talk to him.

But after day 1 (round 1), a report came out that he was making demands to be drafted in the 2nd or 3rd round or he wouldn't play.... making demands hurts your draft stock as well, maybe a team that might of taken a chance decided to back off then.

And before day 3 (so after rounds 2/3) NFL reporters said teams were strongly thinking about drafting him in the 4th round but the more they thought/talked about it, they decided to back off after his claim they he wouldn't sign with any team that drafted him after day 2.

Though to be completely honest, I think if I were a GM, I still would of took a stab at him with a 7th round pick. If he chooses not to play, then it only cost a 7th round pick.... if he decides to play then you could be getting a 1st to 3rd round player at a lot lower price.

But rumors also had it, that he shafted himself on purpose because he wanted to go undrafted so that he could choose which team and city he got to go to, if he wasn't going to be a top 3 round pick.

That's a risk he took

Players who go undrafted can also negotiate a new deal after only 2 years. It's a lot better deal in a lot of ways than being a late round draft pick
