http://www.profootballtalk.com/2009/01/05/rumors-fly-of-nolan-to-packers/

The best thing about the most obvious, superficial analyses of NFL coaching connections is that, sometimes theyre accurate.

We suggested last night that former 49ers coach Mike Nolan could be the next defensive coordinator in Green Bay, due to the fact that Packers coach Mike McCarty worked as Nolans offensive coordinator in 2005.

A league source tells us that Nolan curently is in the process of lining up a staff of assistants, and the thinking is that Nolan will be the next defensive coordinator of the Packers.

The Packers announced on Monday the termination of defensive coordinator Bob Sanders and four defensive assistants.

Hmm this seems like it might just happen, What do you guys think of the move if it happens and if it does do you think he's going to bring in the the 3-4 or stick with the 4-3?

Maybe a variety of both? I'd love the Nolan hire!

I think he would do a good job as our DC, also with how poorly he did as a HC I think we could get him at a discount.

I would think that any coach that has a Chance of being a DC, OC or HC would be on the phone calling other coaches he knows trying to get something in place. Just in case.

Remember, Nolan coached the Ravens defense for 3 years. Even if he wasn't fit to be a head coach in this league, he does know his defense.

I want this move. But I'm really hesitant to move to the 3-4. We don't have the personnel right now for it.

His a very good Def. Coord, but HC now that might not be his strong point. I'm sure if Nolan gets his staff, this defense will be playing top of the line defense !!! Get it done packzz !!!

I would love to see this happen.

With that said, I will trust The Packers organization to do what they think is the best. Go Pack Go!

49ers fans are saying he ran the big five - a 4-2-5 defense and that he was "scared to give up the big play"

So what, Nolan gets hired and Moss stays as LB coach, if he doesn't get the St. Louis job? How does that work?

Confused = Me.

Who knows...........maybe they just didn't can Moss because he's in the process of trying to get another job. He may be gone here already, and it's just a formality.
I don't know, just guessing.
