Packers offensive line in top five of PFF rankings for 2022

Pro Football Focus has ranked the Green Bay Packers’ offensive line inside the top five ahead of the 2022 season.

Crucial to the success of the Green Bay Packers‘ offense in recent years has been the performance of the offensive line.

Even after losing veterans Billy Turner, Lucas Patrick, and Dennis Kelly this offseason, the Packers’ offensive line is still expected to be one of the best in the league.

Ahead of the 2022 season, Pro Football Focus’ Mike Renner has ranked the top five offensive lines in the NFL. He has Green Bay at No. 5.

It is hard to have too many arguments with this list.

The Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns both have excellent offensive lines, and the Detroit Lions should be applauded for how they have strengthened their line in recent years.

The Packers’ offensive line has sky-high potential but does feature some unproven players like rookies Sean Rhyan, Zach Tom, and Rasheed Walker.

The talent is there and the Packers have a good blend of experience and youth.

Returning from injury this season is five-time All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari. If he can get back to his best, edge rushers won’t enjoy much success against the left side of Green Bay’s offensive line.

Pro Bowler Elgton Jenkins could miss the start of the 2022 season as he recovers from an ACL tear, but he should make his return at some point. He will likely play at right tackle with Billy Turner gone, but he could also play any other position if needed.

Josh Myers, the Packers’ second-round pick a year ago, impressed as a rookie and should continue at the starting center.

The two guard spots are up for grabs this summer and there will be plenty of competition with Jon Runyan, Royce Newman, Rhyan, and Tom all strong candidates to start.

The Packers’ offensive line deserves to be in the top five.

I hope so, but this projection poses a question...don't you have to know who your starting 5 are before you can make a ranking like this?

I don't want to be difficult, but we don't know 40% of the equation at this point...and that is assuming we know Runyan will be one of the starters, otherwise, we don't know 60%.
Go Packers!!!!

Btw...

On the offensive line, the first team group from left to right was Yosh Nijman, Jon Runyan, Josh Myers, Royce Newman and Cole Van Lanen. The second team group was Nijman, Runyan, Myers, Jake Hanson and Newman.

In other news...

QB Jordan Love received first team reps in OTA’s with Aaron Rodgers’ absence. Love said he has “more confidence and greater comfort” in the Packers system. Additionally, rookie WR’s Christian Watson and Romeo Doubs were running with the first team.

Players like Aaron Jones, AJ Dillon and De’Vondre Campbell were seen on special teams units. Getting reps at punt return were Amari Rodgers, Randall Cobb and Romeo Doubs.

Tyler Davis better produce. Just sayin.

*Head Coach Matt LaFleur spoke about his excitement for TE Tyler Davis, the former college Quarterback. He has been impressive this off-season.

*Darnell Savage, who the Packers picked up his 5th year rookie option on, made a few splash plays during OTA’s.

Saying the 0-line will be top 5 at this point is just a guess. Like was already said, we don't even know who will be starting right now. Will Bactiari (spelling) even be back to pre injury form?
Will the new guys be good?
No one knows right now.

beast (3h) : Not sure anyone is interested in Isaiah Simmons... Collin Oliver might of taken his potential slot
beast (3h) : I'm going with Jax Ulbrich is not telling the whole truth... he accidentally came across it? Why would a defensive coordinator have a QB #?

Zero2Cool (4h) : If we add Isaiah Simmons, book your Super Bowl tickets
Mucky Tundra (4h) : Colts 1st round TE Tyler Warren also got prank called, was that Jax Ulbrich as well?
Zero2Cool (4h) : Jax Ulbrich, Jeff Ulbrich’s son, released an apology for his role in the Shedeur Sanders prank call.
Martha Careful (4h) : apparently he did not participate in practice or play on the east west shrine game nor the NFL combine. The kid was a mediocre spoiled brat
Mucky Tundra (4h) : Yeah that one that was a super wounded duck that Sanders supporters are highlighting to prove a point
Zero2Cool (5h) : Shough is the guy who missed guys at combine isn't he?
beast (5h) : It's not official until I'm dead! I have a chance still! (Not really)
Mucky Tundra (14h) : I could feel my body decomposing in real time when I read that
Mucky Tundra (14h) : @MIKEYSAINRISTIL Tyler Shough will officially be the last person drafted to the NFL born in the 1900’s
Mucky Tundra (26-Apr) : saw the tweet, he meant the city
Mucky Tundra (26-Apr) : Was that for the team or the city?
Zero2Cool (26-Apr) : Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter · 3m Draft grade is in: Green Bay gets an A. The people, the city, the venue were all superb. NFL Draft’s next

Martha Careful (26-Apr) : Bum Phillips used to say there are two ways to get better. Get better players or get players to play better. We have a new DL coach
Zero2Cool (26-Apr) : Yes. Look at the losses last year. They can win.
beast (26-Apr) : Can Packers win with their current DL?
bboystyle (26-Apr) : waiting for a pass rusher.
dfosterf (25-Apr) : 5 minutes between picks in the 3rd

dfosterf (25-Apr) : 7 minutes between picks in the 2nd round
Martha Careful (25-Apr) : Sorry to bitch, but the headline writers in that section absolutely mislead, or don't know how to read. It is maddening
Martha Careful (25-Apr) : No thanks. Not a dependable guy to be in the right place and run the right route. Dumb as a box of rocks.
Zero2Cool (25-Apr) : Losing 2nd round pick for a one year rental, not ideal. Especially a headcase.
TheKanataThrilla (25-Apr) : Pickens for Jaire may be interesting. Definitely not sure we want Pickens long term.
dfosterf (25-Apr) : No.Absolutely not
Zero2Cool (25-Apr) : NO NO NO NO NO NO!!1 🤬🤬🤬🤬🤬
dhazer (25-Apr) : scenario: Our main prospects are off the board when our pick comes around, do we just throw a 2nd round pick at Pittsburgh for Pickens
