Pro Football Focus has ranked the Green Bay Packers’ offensive line inside the top five ahead of the 2022 season.
Crucial to the success of the Green Bay Packers‘ offense in recent years has been the performance of the offensive line.
Even after losing veterans Billy Turner, Lucas Patrick, and Dennis Kelly this offseason, the Packers’ offensive line is still expected to be one of the best in the league.
Ahead of the 2022 season, Pro Football Focus’ Mike Renner has ranked the top five offensive lines in the NFL. He has Green Bay at No. 5.
It is hard to have too many arguments with this list.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Cleveland Browns both have excellent offensive lines, and the Detroit Lions should be applauded for how they have strengthened their line in recent years.
The Packers’ offensive line has sky-high potential but does feature some unproven players like rookies Sean Rhyan, Zach Tom, and Rasheed Walker.
The talent is there and the Packers have a good blend of experience and youth.
Returning from injury this season is five-time All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari. If he can get back to his best, edge rushers won’t enjoy much success against the left side of Green Bay’s offensive line.
Pro Bowler Elgton Jenkins could miss the start of the 2022 season as he recovers from an ACL tear, but he should make his return at some point. He will likely play at right tackle with Billy Turner gone, but he could also play any other position if needed.
Josh Myers, the Packers’ second-round pick a year ago, impressed as a rookie and should continue at the starting center.
The two guard spots are up for grabs this summer and there will be plenty of competition with Jon Runyan, Royce Newman, Rhyan, and Tom all strong candidates to start.
The Packers’ offensive line deserves to be in the top five.
