This isn't the year to be drafting a QB until the last few rounds.

I am just sick of "fans" with no clue implying that Jordan Love sucks and will never amount to anything. I will go with Gute's positive feelings about J-Love over yours. Thanks.

I am old enough to remember very well what some "fans" were saying about Aaron in 2005, 2006, 2007. It was some of the exact same things said about Jordan.

And the come back is..."well, Jordan Love isn't Aaron Rodgers." Of course he isn't. And Aaron wasn't Brett Favre.

What is your point? My point is that you know absolutely nothing.

I said then and I have said many times since then that Madden or someone of his ilk said it takes 3 years to properly develop a QB. Taking Aaron in 2005 means he would be ready to take over the leadership for the 2009 season. That was perfect timing.

Now as far as Love is concerned. I was a little concerned but I still liked the pick. Again it takes 3 years for a QB to develop. Selecting him in the 2020 draft meant he would be ready for 2023. Then COVID hit and Aaron stepped up and did an MVP repeat. No one knew. No one expected these things to happen. I will never say Gute made the wrong choice. I think Love has potential. I see his selection not as the guy who was going to replace Aaron in 2020 or even 2021. I see him as being a decent QB who will elevate the QB2 level to a place that gives the Packers a chance to win should Aaron be injured. The QB2 that GB had for the past 5 years or so didn't give them that chance.

I have also said, time and time again that Love's performance in the KC game was not an indication of his talent or abilities. First and foremost, he was, a rookie. It was a poor game plan for him. It was a poor game plan for the OL. The OL failed to meet any kind of a standard of protection and thus he was rushed and pressured beyond a level we can expect good results from any QB. After they changed the plan late in the game, he started to move the offense. I suspect he would have done so if they had called those same plays the whole game.

I am still willing to wait and see if he will be the Packers QB of the future. Rodgers new contract makes it a little complicated. It will be interesting to see if he wants to remain in GB after his 4 years are up. It will be interesting to see if GB wants to keep him as their backup QB at a higher salary.

So if you still want to chat, great. Just be careful of your assumptions. It might be you who was wrong.

The Jordan Love stuff I wrote was directed at a overall vibe here. You can all now claim to have J-Love's back. That is not the overall vibe of the forum, and not just this thread.

That is what I called out. And will continue to call out if I see it. Thanks.

All any if us have right now about Love are opinions. There isn't much real info available except his small amount of game play we have seen.
Will he be a bust? Or a future HOFer? Or something in between? No one here (or even in the Packers FO) knows for sure .
Did I think Aaron Rodgers would win a Superbowl, and be a future HOFer when he was drafted? Nope. Not because I thought he would suck, but because both of those things are rare. Think about how many teams not only haven't won a Superbowl, but haven't even been to one.
And how many teams have gone through multiple QBs, just hoping to have a great QB over the last 30 years, while we have had TWO Superbowl winning HOF QBs during that time.
Old farts like me lived through the great 1960's and had to survive the lousy 1970s and 1980s. So it makes the last 30 years something special to me.
I remember how great it felt to just make the playoffs for the first time when Favre got here. I was THRILLED to just get to see "my" team get to play one more game, win or lose.

We generally have Love's back, but even more we have reality's back in that Jordan Love in not yet I'm the same ball park as Rodgers, and almost no players as young as Love are... we don't expect that, but when someone keeps saying he's better than Rodgers, the comparison is changed.

Love absolutely failed to pass the zero coverage blitz, it's someone that a lot of young QBs fail at.

In no way does that determine his future... Love still has high potential and before Love was drafted, I've said he was a 3 year development QB and post draft, I don't know weather to count the no training camp, 3rd string rookie year or not.

You are so passionate in your posts it is a little easy to make that mistake. Over the years I have seen it with other members with one another. Following the lead of other poster, at times I will put the caveat that "this is not directed to anyone in particular". I am not telling you what to do or to say only I have seen that diffuse tensions on the board.

Again, I welcome you as a new member. I find you and I are in agreement on many of your comments. If I make a mistake in the future, please let me know.

I called no one out by name for "being a Love hater." Don't make up things. Thanks.

I also didn't say anyone here is a "Love Hater." But I AM CALLING OUT the overall vibe here that Jordan Love is not a good QB and will never amount to anything.

Again, I heard the exact same thing said about Aaron in 2005, 2006, 2007.

Yes, anyone thinking they know what Jordan Love is or will be at this point, those people do indeed know NOTHING!

What? Are you attempting to cut on J-Love and say he has no skill? He has a stronger arm and more athleticism than Aaron. He is developing, just like Aaron did for 3 years. Of course Aaron is a better QB now, but J-Love has the potential to be a elite QB in this league. There were many clowns like you that said Aaron would never amount to anything, like you are implying about J-Love. I heard that numerous times in 2005, 2006, 2007 about Aaron. The Packers are keeping J-Love and they should. Gute will not be drafting a QB this year. They are set with Aaron, J-Love, and Benkert.

And no, they didn't keep Kurt around all last season just because of Covid. He is a high quality QB as well. Great dude also. Strong chance he is on the squad through 2022 as well.

Mucky Tundra (6h) : The Seattle Seahawks defeat the Chicago Bears 6-3. Jason Myers had 6 RBIs for Seattle while Cairo Santos had 3 RBI for Chicago
beast (7h) : Not nessarily, he might of been injured either way. He's playing about 50% of the games the last 4 years
Zero2Cool (13h) : If they'd been more patient with him, he'd be back already. Putting him out there vs Bears caused him to tweak it and here we are.
packerfanoutwest (13h) : well this is his last season with the PAck, book it
beast (15h) : Sounds like no Alexander (again), I'm wondering if his time with the Packers is done
Zero2Cool (21h) : Could ban beast and I still don't think anyone catches him.
Mucky Tundra (26-Dec) : Houston getting dog walked by Baltimore
packerfanoutwest (25-Dec) : Feliz Navidad!
Zero2Cool (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas!
beast (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
beast (24-Dec) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (24-Dec) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (23-Dec) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (23-Dec) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
