Gute and the Packers are not at all interested in trading J-Love. And they shouldn't be. Let's say Aaron gets hurt. People would say Gute should have had a good backup in place. Well, he does, in J-Love. Tom Clements will work with J-Love and help him further develop. Nate Hackett and Luke Getsy had no clue how to develop a young QB. I am actually glad those 2 are gone. I was so sick of "Gold Zone." Hackett was in charge of the Red Zone and the Packers struggled down there last season. Getsy was a stiff.

For those of you saying the Packers won't carry 3 QBs. They had 3 all of last season. Aaron and J-Love active, and Kurt Benkert on the practice squad. That will be the same this season. Unless some team wants to trade a 3rd rounder for Kurt.

Anyone see Silverstein's latest article ?

Sounds like he's saying Love needs to show more effort or something. I can't read it, because I don't pay, but it almost sounds like Matt's sending him a message thru the press. Maybe someone can give an overview.

The NFL changed that a bit to protect 4 players per week, but I believe that was only from Wednesday to Sunday, meaning they could still sign away on any Monday or Tuesday.

No team is going to offer a 7th for a PS player, because they're a FA.

Of course Aaron is a better QB now, but J-Love has the potential to be a elite QB in this league. There were many clowns like you that said Aaron would never amount to anything, like you are implying about J-Love. I heard that numerous times in 2005, 2006, 2007 about Aaron. The Packers are keeping J-Love and they should. Gute will not be drafting a QB this year. They are set with Aaron, J-Love, and Benkert.

And no, they didn't keep Kurt around all last season just because of Covid. He is a high quality QB as well. Great dude also. Strong chance he is on the squad through 2022 as well.

Wow, I'm impressed. The rookie has entered the building spitting fire. I'm not sure I necessarily agree with his point of view, but he articulates it well, and that's what matters to me.

Just so you know, when some fans are saying the Packers are not going to carry 3 QBs, we mean on the 53 man roster. OF COURSE they will have a 3rd stashed away on the PS. That is mandatory from an organizational perspective. But along with that it also means they can't draft someone of value in the 4th -6th rounds and then try to place him on the PS. Someone with that much value will be taken by another team and placed on their 53 man roster.

I am just sick of "fans" with no clue implying that Jordan Love sucks and will never amount to anything. I will go with Gute's positive feelings about J-Love over yours. Thanks.

I am old enough to remember very well what some "fans" were saying about Aaron in 2005, 2006, 2007. It was some of the exact same things said about Jordan.

And the come back is..."well, Jordan Love isn't Aaron Rodgers." Of course he isn't. And Aaron wasn't Brett Favre.

What is your point? My point is that you know absolutely nothing.

I also didn't say anyone here is a "Love Hater." But I AM CALLING OUT the overall vibe here that Jordan Love is not a good QB and will never amount to anything.

Again, I heard the exact same thing said about Aaron in 2005, 2006, 2007.

Yes, anyone thinking they know what Jordan Love is or will be at this point, those people do indeed know NOTHING!

Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (16-Apr) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (16-Apr) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (16-Apr) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (16-Apr) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (16-Apr) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (16-Apr) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (16-Apr) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
