so now that our business is open & doing ok, my boys & I have embarked on a project.

we are collecting used suitcases, duffle bags, &/or backpacks to donate to any foster child who needs one. most foster kids move from one place to the next by throwing their belongings into big garbage bags. breaks my heart to think about it. so if any of you have any sort of connections to help us out, I would appreciate it GREATLY!!

we've been at our local goodwill & salvation army - so far we have 11 suitcases!!! a drop in the bucket i'm sure but I put the word out on my facebook page & have had friends & family dragging out their luggage they don't need.

my mom made an announcement in her church yesterday & got some more willing to donate as well as a donation of $40!!!
that will buy a lot of 2nd hand suitcases and/or duffle bags!!
the boys faces light up when we find more - we cruised around town this weekend scoping out all the garage sales.

somewhat similar to what I've been doing with laptops/computers. I rebuild/fix them and give them to those who otherwise can't afford one.

UPDATE: now we have well over 20 suitcases - yippee!!!
tomorrow we go to a neighboring town to scope out their goodwill & cruise for garage sales.

Those are words my eldest will hear when asking "what ya get me for my 18th birthday??".
