The Packers need to create a lot of salary cap space. Moving on from Adrian Amos, Billy Turner, Dean Lowry and Randall Cobb would take care of almost $19 million.

Giving extensions will clear up cap space for the current year, almost as good as released due to the NFLs accounting method.

Amos should get an extension.

I'm not sure what to do with Turner and Lowry, they're good enough you don't want to let them go, but not good enough you large large money at them. Solid starters, though ideally you'd want someone better, but they're like glue guys, keep everyone else together but not a play maker themselves.

Cobb, if we're keeping Rodgers then give Cobb an extension, but his dollar amount has to drop, with all due respect, Cobb simply hasn't lived up to his contract amount, he's good enough to keep around especially with his Chemistry with Rodgers, but he's a #3 WR at best now... then again, that's sort of the Packers problem, they have a #1 in Adams and then no #2 recievers and a bunch of #3 or #4 WRs after that.

They need to upgrade the receiver role, and not it doesn't nessarily have to be WR, but a great threat at TE could work as well like it has for the Chiefs and 49ers. But it can't all be Adams.

MVS speed helps open some stuff up... but he's a FA too.

The new TV money kicks in for the 2023 Salary Cap. The Packers can still do The Last Dance : II.

I’m fine with losing Dean Lowry. He flashes some good plays but isn’t consistent in my opinion. I think it’s important to keep Amos, and I would like to keep Cobb around but it’s not 100% necessary. I feel like he would take less money to stay though.

Trade Davante for someone cheaper, younger. Bring back Mercilus too. I'd love to get the Smiths back.

Clark is a playmaker, but outside of him, no other DT on the Packers roster can consistently play as well as Lowry.

Keke was extremely althetic and had potential, but never fully developed it, and was inconsistent. And for whatever reason we let him go...

Next is Lancaster, whom I believe is a FA... and athletically limited.

Which then it's Slaton, whom I think fans will say they like, but that's more because he's a recent draft pick that we haven't gotten to see enough of. But he has potential, especially in run defense, pass rush needs a lot of work, but usually rookie DT suck, and then have a big jump in year two.

But we need Lowry, or some veteran FAs, otherwise our 5th DT this year will be starting... and basically have no depth to rotate guys. I think we're stuck with Lowry for another year and need to make sure we draft another DT or two.

Amos is foundational to the team. Especially with Savage adjusting to the new system.

They're waiting on Rodgers.

Favre is holding the team hostage, ope I mean Rodgers (it is the sequel correct) I want him traded he isn't going to get us to a Super Bowl if he stays and only puts us in cap hell for the future. Trade his ass and get the boatload of picks free up some space and draft the replacements simply. Defense and running game can get us into the playoffs and lose in the first round, so why pay huge money to these old veterans and still lose in the first round. Tag and trade Adams to the Raiders collect a 1st and maybe a 3rd and trade Rodgers and Cobb to the Broncos for a bunch of picks and Jeudy. Let Z walk with that huge money and after this year trade off Baht (this year it would cost us more to trade him than keep him) Resign Amos and Preston Smith and Lazard and MVS.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

I still think Savages best role might be the nickel role, as he seems much better in man coverage or directly following someone, then reading the field predicting where the ball might go.

But the Packers Safety depth sucks, so they can't move Savage out of the Safety role.

As a surprise pick, I'm thinking the Packers might be interesting in the Safety from Michigan with a high pick, as he is a very athletic Safety with nice upside just like Savage was. Though Savage might have a larger build body. But we need a decent third safety, both because 3rd Safeties often get on the field and because it allows us to move Savage and Amos to the nickel and dime positions if we feel like that would be more helpful.

Of course, Packers entire defense needs more depth, except maybe OLB, but if we release some guys (Smiths) then we might need it too.
