Our special teams unit is the main reason for using the game.

Mason Crosby's first missed kick was his fault. The second kick, you could make a case for both arguments. That kick looked like it was getting blocked no matter what, and it was a bad kick to begin with anyway.

The line was AWFUL blocking for Mason Crosby.

The ball that bounced off of Bush's leg wasn't his fault but it is still is another ST blunder.

Our Kickoff coverage has to be one of the worst in the league. Nobody kept to their lane assignments. Everyone was trying to be the guy to make the tackle. The Bears consistently had the ball at the 35.

Another Mason Crosby kick that proved costly was that kickoff out of bounds. I understand they were trying to keep it away from Manning, but when the field is 50+ yards wide you have no excuse to give the ball to them at the 40.

Kapinos had that bad punt that gave the ball to the Bears on the 50. There was very little hangtime on that punt, which is a VERY bad thing when Devin Hester is back there.

So my point is, OUR SPECIAL TEAMS SUCKS

What I learned in high school while on every special team and field goal (no I wasn't just on special teams haha).

Inside leg goes behind your teammates outside leg, making a cross. Your outter arm shoots across. YOU BLOCK THE GUY TRYING TO RUN THROUGH YOUR GAP!!!

I saw about 5 guys fall forward and 6-7 Bears 3-5 yards deep in the backfield.

Stick to the basics, they come back to kill you in the end.

Nothing wrong with Mason Crosby. Was the kick low? Yes, but the Bears push on our line was ridiculous. It seems like the special teams has just given up and that was quite clear at times last night.

You know, I'm kind of shocked McCarthy hasn't melted down and thrown an insane tantrum in front of the media yet. This season has been beyond belief (see creative loss thread).

And by the way... something tells me we may be replacing our substitute long snapper next year:

What the hell is he doing? Taking a dive? Seeing him get planted like that, I'd love to see a photo of the pre-snap formations, to see if a Bears player was lined up directly over him.

If he's laying on his back like that, there almost had to have been someone lined directly in front of him.

I meant more like maybe get a new ST coach sorry if I wasn't clear enough ...

Do you think that a different special teams coach would help him make a kick in a big situation?
