I'm not trying to blame the defense here. I'm just trying to see if this season is actually aberrant, or if it's a more common phenomenon that we realize. It would appear from the numbers you've produced that it's actually not an uncommon phenomenon.

If were talking points per game, why are we taking points off the board? that's almost as stupid as saying "well if Grant didn't have that 45 yard run his average would only be 3.5 instead of 5.2".

It is what it is. Just like when Rodgers throws a pick and its a good pass that's been tipped in the air. It's a pick, period.

I was saying that because people are saying its all the defenses fault without giving the d their credit for scoring the most points in the NFL. I did the stats just for the offense alone and our offense isn't that great we rank 12th in scoring.

Then why do it half ass? Why don't you throw up some numbers about where the Packers were forced to start out at because the defense couldn't make a stop?

Or maybe do when the offense couldn't move the ball and the defense had to start on the wrong side of the 50?

I started a new thread of you want to move these last posts there because we got off topic in here.
Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

last year total of 49 tds...had 3 from D and s/t take those away thats 46 tds...

322 points ....31 fg or 93 points...

415 points===

26 points per game on offense in 2007

This year so farfor up to 14 games

42 tds take away the 8 from D and s/t thats 34 tds or 238 points..........

25 fg...75 points for total of 313 points..for an average of about

22 points on offense

So......4 points per game more last year...

D this year 335 points giving up

About 24 points per game

2007 gave up 18 points per game

Thats 6 more points per game the D is giving up this year

Damn i just can't make you guys happy i give you the biggest pt differentials and w-l records not good enough, I show you the most points scored by losing teams and thats not good enough. Like i showed you the Chiefs led the league in scoring one year and finished 8-8 and showed the Cards were -53 and finished 9-7. I know you guys want to blame everything on the defense but if you look you will see that the Cards and Broncos gave up more points than us and they are both going to the playoffs. Btw you might want to redo the points stats if you are using the offense, the defense and st have scored i believe its 6 int tds, 1 fumble ret td, and 2 punt returns for tds so out of the 371. 371-54 = 317 which drops our average down to 22.7 a game. Also take those 54 and take them off points the defense gave up (because it equals it out) 285 pts so the defense is holding there own 20.3 pts a game is what there average would be. Ok i know im playing around with the numbers but its an all around team that is at fault. Take that average of 22.7 pts a game and we would be ranked 19th in offense.

ok now im intrigued if i take all the non offensive tds away who whould be the highest scoring team.

We would actually drop from #5 all the way down to #12 in offensive scoring.

I wasnt trying to tick you off..

Truly wanted to see how those teams defenses ranked..

So if there is a correlation with high points, bad records, and bad defenses

2008 Chargers actually are worse than us with +44 and (6-8)
2006 interesting Seahawks -6 playoffs, Giants -7 playoffs
2004 KC Chiefs were +48 and finished (7-9)
2003 Tampa +37 (7-9), 49ers +47 (7-9)
2002 Jags +13 (6-10)
2001 Chargers +11 (5-11)
2000 Jags +40 (7-9)
hows this 1998 Cards -53 (9-7)

dhazer, these statistics are fascinating, and I greatly appreciate your taking the time to look them up. Can you find comparable statistics for teams that have scored as many points as the Packers have (371 pts for an average of 26.5 PPG)? It's hard for me to believe there have been many teams with losing records that have scored that many points per game. But I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

2005 rams 363 points (6-10)
2003 49ers 384 points (7-9)
2002 Vikings 390 points (6-10) side note highest scoring team KC finished (8-8)
2001 Colts 413 points (6-10)
2000 49ers 388 points (6-10)
1996 Ravens 371 points (4-12)

It was interesting to see how some of the highest scoring teams didn't have the most wins.

Brett Favre is the best QB ever to play the game.

Wow. You found a link of someone's opinions and quote them as fact.

I'm impressed.

I'm being sarcastic of course. Wish I could dock a -1.

Steve Young is underrated. A better QB than Brady, but didn't have the TEAM or the Coaching behind him that Brady had. And you're probably new here, but I've said repeatedly that I never include anyone prior to 1976 because I didn't see them play except for highlight reels. Had Young had Brady's team, he'd probably have 5 SB wins.

Another reason is you can't compare eras. DBs were able to hit WRs the whole way down. Now, if a DB practically looks at the WR wrong, they get a penalty flag on them. Completely different eras. You can't compare them.

Zero2Cool (1h) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (1h) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (2h) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (2h) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (3h) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
Zero2Cool (3h) : 5th - Packers win out, Vikings lose out. Maybe?
beast (3h) : Saying no to the 6th lock.
beast (3h) : No, with the Commanders beating the Eagles, Packers could have a good chance of 6th or 7th unless the win out
Zero2Cool (3h) : I think if Packers win, they are locked 6th with chance for 5th.
beast (3h) : But it doesn't matter, as the Packers win surely win one of their remaining games
beast (3h) : This is not complex, just someone doesn't want to believe reality
beast (3h) : We already have told you... if Packers lose all their games (they won't, but if they did), and Buccaneers and Falcons win all theirs
Zero2Cool (3h) : I posted it in that Packers and 1 seed thread
Zero2Cool (3h) : I literally just said it.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : show us a scenario where Pack don't get in? bet you can't
Zero2Cool (3h) : Falcons, Buccaneers would need to win final two games.
Zero2Cool (3h) : Yes, if they win one of three, they are lock. If they lose out, they can be eliminated.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : as I just said,,gtheyh are in no matter what
Zero2Cool (3h) : Packers should get in. I just hope it's not 7th seed. Feels dirty.
packerfanoutwest (3h) : If packers lose out, no matter what, they are in
packerfanoutwest (3h) : both teams can not male the playoffs....falcon hold the tie breaker
packerfanoutwest (3h) : if bucs win out they win their division
beast (3h) : Fine, Buccaneers and Falcons can get ahead of us
packerfanoutwest (3h) : falcons are already ahead of us
beast (3h) : Packers will get in
beast (3h) : If Packers lose the rest of their games and Falcons win the rest of theirs, they could pass us... but not gonna happen
packerfanoutwest (4h) : they still are in the playoffs
packerfanoutwest (4h) : If Packers lose the remaining games,,,,at 10-7
Zero2Cool (5h) : We can say it. We don't play.
Mucky Tundra (7h) : But to say they are in is looking past the Saints
Mucky Tundra (7h) : That said, their odds are very favorable with a >99% chance of making the playoffs entering this week's games
Mucky Tundra (7h) : Packers are not in and have not clinched a playoff spot.
buckeyepackfan (7h) : Packers are in, they need to keep winning to improve their seed#.
Mucky Tundra (16h) : Getting help would have been nice, but helping ourselves should always be the plan
beast (17h) : Too bad Seahawks couldn't beat Vikings
bboystyle (17h) : We just need to win Monday night and were in
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Or ties, but let's be real here
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Other scenario was Falcons+Rams losses
Mucky Tundra (20h) : Needed a Falcons loss for a Seahawk loss to clinch
buckeyepackfan (20h) : Am I wring in saying if Tge Vikings beat The Seahawks, The Packers clinch?
Mucky Tundra (21-Dec) : Agreed; you stinks
Zero2Cool (21-Dec) : I'm not beating anyone. I stinks.
