This is all about being the "highest paid player." THAT is what Aaron wants.

So here is the deal: WIN THE SUPERBOWL, and you get to be the highest paid player in league history. REPEAT, and be the highest paid plus an extra $5mill. THREEPEAT and everytime someone's contract gets higher than yours, it will be re-adjusted.

Gute has been making some changes and hopefully the team is improving but there are many who think Ted did nothing to help Rodgers win. If I was a QB and that is the way I saw things I'd be reluctant to pin my paycheck on on something like that. I'm fine with escalator clauses but usually they are added enticements on top of more traditional compensation. Especially when they are tied to team accomplishments. Make the pro bowl make an extra million sure that sounds good to a player because he has some control. Winning the SB is something any individual player has less control over.
