You don't love "your" team because they are good, you love them because they are YOUR team.
If all it takes for you to leave is them making decisions that YOU don't agree with, then you were never really a FAN of that team in the first place. A REAL fan sticks by them no matter what they do. That doesn't mean you have to agree with every move they make.
But to dump them just because of hard times is in my opinion, lame.
If that was the way I am, I would have dumped the Packers in the 1970's.
As you can see, I'm still here.
I was made fun of by many people back then for remaining a fan of the Packers.
ANYONE can back them when they are winning, and making great draft picks.

I've been a follower for nearly 40 years, but people should be open to change with new information. The newest info is this org is run by a lying scumbag that I have no respect for. Ted was tolerable as frustrating as he was for me due to his shoot low slow philosophy. Hated it for years and years...daily.
My team is my team because that's where I grew up. It's a love that was started by a mentor of mine who used to play HS football vs. Tim Krumrie. I lost him to cancer a few months back and it's been very hard on me with him gone. The Packers run very very deep for me and very long. I love Wisconsin and my old hometown. Just found out they're tearing down my old elementary and I almost broke down and struggle with them taking away a place I developed, loved, and felt safe. So, I'm incredibly nostalgic and care deeply about things that I have relationships with. However, one can only take so much. I despise Mark Murphy. I detest lying especially the blatant reckless nature of Murphy and really really hate what they're pulling on this fanbase. It's vile and despicable. This is a publicly held franchise that is supposed to be unique and special. It reeks of corporate America. It's soulless. The Packers are corporate America if you watched Murphy. I detest that and loved what I thought was a slice of time now gone elsewhere but I learned that it is very sadly gone in Green Bay, too.
I have major issues with people like you and your ilk just be a fan no matter what approach. I made it almost 40 years and it took being blatantly lied to by a scumbag I could never respect and a plan to take the Packers backward into what they said they were moving away from. This is WORSE than Ted and I was barely hanging on with his outdated philosophies and ways of working in the modern NFL. You can't then lie to me that we're changing and give me even worse under the guise of better. I'm not a chump. I won't be disrespected.
There are many long time NFL fans who left over anthem protests. Were they not ever real NFL fans? They just happen to stand for more than RAH RAH Green Bay Packers this is my team! That's really kind of pathetic if you really think about it. There is no license to walk on people who devote way too much of their time. The relationship is severed by lying. I'm incredibly forgiving but I'll never get a moment from 1265 ever admitting the wrongs and asking for it, so it's time to move on should the Ball drop.
Funny thing is it won't be hard to walk away not if it's this way because standing for something I believe in means WAY more than nearly 40 years of blind football allegiance. It's sad that you don't understand that and might be the reason I could never mesh with your type because I can't respect your mentality. I question things in my own character and self daily. I expect certain simple things from me and those close to me. Like...telling the truth.
I became a worse person for finding my first Packers forum almost 20 years ago. I developed post rage. When people see people driving and causing near accidents because they don't pay attention because they're texting, reading, looking at themselves or eating, I find that something to get wrangled over. Why watching people spout things they have no clue about mindlessly just seemed to do the same thing to me. I guess coming out of a sports media background and having to listen to a certain mentality call into years worth of radio shows both national and local just wore on me. I hear the same kinds of things here and elsewhere. I like smart conversation and there is some to be found here that's why I came and went all these few years here. However, watching smart people accept things that I can't is hard to swallow. I don't like it for some odd reason. It shouldn't bother me but at times it did and that's a warning sign to me. I've left a lot for my own sake.
Ultimately, everything in life is about relationships. The relationship has been fractured beyond repair for the immediate indefinite future. You have no idea how and why I hate lying as much as I do. It's the most deplorable part of human nature. I've forgiven many as we all have but not for something like this because I really don't need it. It's a relationship with nothing really...a game on TV.
To Mark Murphy:
“I'm not upset that you lied to me, I'm upset that from now on I can't believe you.”
Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."
