There are multiple instances of Ted coming across as impaired. You say Bob is lying. You're lying. I posted tweets from Bill Huber, Zach Kruse and articles from TotalPackers as well as seeing multiple instances myself. You just don't pay attention.

Did you hear Murphy joke about it will be hard for the next GM to do less than Ted does? Considering this situation with his health that was a sick shot to take at an ill feeble senior citizen.

Go watch to the GIF posted from SNF I posted here. It was cited in Bob's piece. Go watch the long interview in Arizona, not edited version. At 7 minutes in, he starts speaking about something totally different than the subject. I posted about it way back. Your constant cries of no evidence are facetious. You know what's been out there and that he's been off beyond his usual weirdness. Plus. Bob addresses incidents. He made them all up? That's your big trump card? That is your evidence that Bob made up an entire article and multiple incidents? That's rich. Bob has never been the National Enquirer. Provide evidence that any non opinion piece he ever wrote was all factually inaccurate or you're the liar because you've thrown out that trump card for years. It's pathetic. Anytime we get more than the puff and fluff you get off on you throw the Bob card out. You don't like the truth. You're an enabler.

I think we need to really find out why guys like Kevin Greene bolted from here. May be very telling regarding the odd culture that was here.

Stop talking about one another and stop talking about the health of another man. Further posts will be soft-deleted. Thank you for your cooperation. The original post offered up several items to discuss. Go after it!

"Blowing things up" doesn't mean the Packers can't win. The exact opposite could happen. Get guys (GM and D.C.) that can get things going, and it might just light a fuse under the players.
And Ted staying on in a different position doesn't mean it was his own choice to step down. It could be "saving face" for Ted. Instead of just firing him.
He did a lot for this team, and this could be a way to show him he was appreciated for his work here.
I don't know for sure of course, just a possibility.

I have a new theory on this GM "search" that is supposed to wrap up by the end of next week...

I'd put heavy money Russ Ball is the guy. Why? What the Packers organization wanted to accomplish is getting rid of the appearance they were letting an unfit man run their operation. What did they do? Gave Ted a fancy new title. Does Russ know scouting? No. It was reported by Demovsky that Russ recently had been trying to learn it from Ted. Murphy is closest to Ball as fellow bean counters.

So, the org accomplishes what it wanted most. Ted out of the public eye while having him still running things with Russ as the puppet. Murphy wins. He keeps Ted around, has his bean counting buddy in the chair to help with appearances and things go on business per usual which is what I believe this organization is dead set on doing.

Ultimately, the only change is they get to hide Ted. Nah...the Packers org would never do such a thing?

Bet me. I'll take your action.

It seems like an epiphany. A bolt from the blue. It seems clear now that all this org wanted was Ted out of the public eye to maintain the status quo by giving off a different appearance of things. It ticks all the boxes and squares all the things that have been questions.

If I'm wrong, I'll be the happiest Packers follower out there.

What reason exactly is it to assume Ball will be the same as Ted? If anything I think his background tends toward the opposite. He got started under Loomis who loves FA and doesn't have the scout background that would make him particularly attached to draft prospects.

One thing we know...the Packers org craves status quo at an unusual and unhealthy level. This makes total sense and answers the questions about things that aren't making sense or haven't been...until now.

If Russ is named most will do what you just posted...assume we have somebody completely different running the operation when Ted will be puppetmastering behind the scenes. No liability on the org for the appearance of an unfit guy running it. It's perfect and it's perfect Packers. I want to be wrong, but I fear I'm right.

I mean what you are saying is you think they took away Ted's GM/decision making this offseason because he can't do it anymore because his brain is fried or whatever but now they are going to make Ball the GM so they can give the power back to Ted but be secret about it... That doesn't add up.

I have said I believe Ted was phased out this off-season and it was Eliot, Brian or some combo doing things because it was anti-Ted this off-season. Leopards don't change spots and especially that dramatically late in the game, unless, well... nevermind.

So, YES...I do still believe it wasn't Ted this past off-season. A trial run with life without him. Not sure they're very happy with the results considering we finished 7-9. I go back to craving status quo. Why would they let Ted make the decision on MM extensions and flat out say Ted is still GM until they hire a new one? I'm not sold that Mark Murphy doesn't want Ted's hands on this thing. I don't think this is a very typical situation. Is there another one comparable? Anyone know? Ted is still here...WHY? It makes sense to hide him and for Russ to go to him during times of clarity, as Russ isn't a scout and Ted was a very good one. I'll even give him that. You think Russ is going to be making draft picks in a vacuum? Someone is going to be inputting to him and Ted is still here, right? Therefore, I believe Ted will have great influence within this organization.

Here's another thought off this subject... Where is Ted now? He released a prepared statement that I believe PR wrote for him. If Ted is just fine, you don't think making him available to speak to this big change is appropriate or necessary? Ted, if fine, would be giving a farewell presser. That's the classy and right way to do things. I understand he's not leaving the org but he's leaving his high profile job of 13 years to move elsewhere and we don't get to see or hear from him?

packerfanoutwest (12-Aug) : Matt LaFleur: “Highly unlikely” Jordan Love plays more this preseason
dfosterf (12-Aug) : Doubs, Savion Williams, LVN, Musgrave all banged up to one degree or another, missing one here I forget

Mucky Tundra (9-Aug) : THE GREEN BAY PACKERS ARE PLAYING FOOTBALL TONIGHT!!!!!! THIS IS NOT A DRILL!!!!
Zero2Cool (9-Aug) : Woo-hoo
TheKanataThrilla (9-Aug) : NFL Network is broadcasting the game tonight, but not in Canada. Not sure why as no local television is showing the game.
beast (8-Aug) : But the Return from IR designations had to be applied by the 53 man cutdown.
beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress
