Talk about a worthless column. I typically like Demovsky but this one is worthless.
We don't know if or when Teddy is going to step down. Sooner would be better than later. There are plenty of candidates around. Dorsey was long gone let's bring him up anyway.
Demovsky's line-

Maybe just maybe he jumped at the chance to be the GM in Cleveland because he was unemployed. Perhaps he is smart enough not to sit around for a year or two, maybe even 3 hoping Teddy retires.
I guess this goes to show us the general public isn't the only one who isn't stopped from talking about an issue even though they don't know anything about it.

I have felt like I known when, after Mark Murphy announced Ted Thompson was going to step down, other tried to read between the lines and say Thompson retirement was coming soon... so I tried to read through the lines but I got the exact opposite.

I got Ted Thompson is not going to retire but he's going to step down and continue being a scout when his current contract expires after the 2018 Season.

Of course, I've also been speculating that Ted Thompson might copy Ron Wolf and secretly give control to the next person early so they can get used to making GM calls while he's still there, but this speculation is probably partly true but mostly false as the guys behind Thompson have been steadily getting more and more exposure, and they're not new to the game like the guy that followed Ron Wolf. Plus Thompson might be staying with the team in a different position, so he's around to ask if they want to ask him something.

Browns have a lot of high round draft talent. They have a nice surplus of draft picks. The job while yes the Browns is quite attractive.

They have $100 of cap space to spend and 6 picks within the top 65. Only question is will the ownership let him do his thing. Could be a bright future for Cleveland.
