Did you notice the look on Payton's face at end? Would bet Mike McCarthy has never had that for Hundley.

I saw Hill live. He was fun to watch. Such a ceiling but we had to hold onto our investment.

I gotta believe we wouldn't have used Taysom's abilities anyway so he's in a much better place. Hundley can run but Mike McCarthy won't accentuate his only strength so why would he use Hill's advantage?

I just can't crown the guy yet as the next best thing. It seems we fans do that too much to fringe players. I do agree, seeing him on special teams was fun. I saw highlights.

As for him being the next franchise QB. Why is he playing special teams at 3rd string and not the backup? Who is the backup? Chase Daniels?

If Hill is so good, why is he 3rd behind Chase Daniels?

Question all you like. Payton told Buck and Aikman that Hill was his next franchise QB.

You're free to make less of a very powerful statement.

Have you ever heard MM speak of Hundley in such terms?

Glad you think it was no big deal to let talent go over need. That is the Packer way. Fill all your needs even if it's with junk just so you can feel like you fixed it while letting or not taking better players. Sounds like a way to run a franchise into the ground. It's okay...we have the best QB to ever play so no one will notice what's really going on here.

No one has heard of coach speak? McCarthy has spoken highly of Hundley. It's what the head coach is going to say publicly whether he believes it or not. Most on here seem to dismiss those comments and discount any possibility that Hundley has any higher ceiling than we have seen so far.

Now Sean Peyton has some coach speak about Taysom Hill and we just buy it hook line and sinker? The undrafted street free agent flying around on special teams is the Saints "franchise quarterback." Sure he is. Why are you risking the entire franchise like that, Coach?

I think they want to believe that Taysom Hill is a future hall of fame QB because it fits the narrative: Packers are incompetent, don't know talent, entire staff should be fired, yada yada yada.

It's a dual edged sword...both in what you let go, and in what you don't attain. There was a couple of us who were very upset Hill was released because we saw the TALENT...meanwhile, 1265 saw NEED at other positions and took less talented players to fill them. Heck, Z, even you noted that in one of your posts and it drives me bonkers. That is what is wrong with this management, well, one of many things. It's fanbase is right in line validating their ridiculous thinking. Losing Hill is a big deal because it points to a larger mindset that is always doing this in smaller moves and bigger ones all the time. MINDSET. You keep TALENT you don't release it. You acquire TALENT, not fill NEED with inferior TALENT because you NEED it. Not using FA is one of the biggest reasons we go NEED in the draft. Richard Rodgers is a Packer and we had to suffer him for years because of NEED mentality over TALENT. I've been consistently saying things for years but some think I just randomly rail things when it's convenient. No. The philosophy of this org is wrong with a QB like 12...100% WRONG. You have the best player and the toughest position that everyone NEEDS...so your NEED is filled. You have to put TALENT around him not draft and develop on a wish and a prayer filling NEEDS over TALENT acquisition. It has KILLED this org...the blood of it is run dry due to NEED over TALENT. Taysom is just another example.

BTW, I heard it. You can question it if you'd like. It was remarkable how much time during a Saints Panthers game was given to talking about Taysom Hill. Ever hear anyone go on and on about Joe Callahan or Hundley when Rodgers was starting? I realize him playing ST's was a huge reason why he was talked about, but it led to the other talk. Payton LOVES that kid. You know who else he LOVED...Kamara... Will they end up the same? I don't know, but when a guy known for offense and QB's is fired up about Taysom Hill it raises eyebrows especially given we cut him and why we cut him. NEED over TALENT.

Just Imagine this for the next 6-9 years. What a ride it will be 🙂 (PS, Zero should charge for this)

dhazer... You think the Packers fell in love with Sam Shields? Why didn't they draft him? How about Cowboys and Tony Romo? Payton loved Kamara so much more after he got to see for himself how great he is.

Listen for yourself...

What's interesting to me is when Ted drafts a guy who ain't good but he gets picked up by another team we hear how great he is because he drafted a guy who can't play but some other team added him to be 3rd or 4th string.

In this case, he cut a guy Payton believes is his next QB for a guy who can't play CB for us with one of the worst CB groups in the league. Silence. Payton loves Hill. I hope you watched the clip. I hope Ted likes the guy he kept as much as Payton loves Hill.

Nothing to see here. Trust our guys. McAdoo was one. Flamed out. Philbin was one. Flamed out. Philbin may have been better than MM. Think about that! We probably have a HC as bad or worse than Philbin running this thing in the ground but we have 12 so he's a highly successful coach. It's uncanny how not many see what's going on in Green Bay thinking things are fine.

Zero2Cool (6h) : sounds like Packers don't get good compensation, Jaire staying
dfosterf (9h) : Nobody coming up with a keep, but at x amount
dfosterf (9h) : Trade, cut or keep
dfosterf (10h) : that from Jaire
dfosterf (10h) : My guess is the Packers floated the concept of a reworked contract via his agent and agent got a f'
Zero2Cool (10h) : Yes, and that is why I think Rob worded it how he did. Rather than say "agent"
dfosterf (11h) : Same laws apply. Agent must present such an offer to Jaire. Cannot accept or reject without presenting it
Zero2Cool (11h) : I'm thinking that is why Rob worded it how he did.
dfosterf (11h) : The Packers can certainly still make the offer to the agent
dfosterf (11h) : Laws of agency and definition of fiduciary responsibility
dfosterf (11h) : Jaire is open to a reduced contract without Jaire's permission
dfosterf (11h) : The agent would arguably violate the law if he were to tell the Packers
Zero2Cool (11h) : That someone ... likely the agent.
Zero2Cool (11h) : So, Jaire has not been offered nor rejected a pay reduction, but someone says he'd decline.
Zero2Cool (11h) : Demovksy says t was direct communication with someone familiar with Jaire’s line of thinking at that moment.
Zero2Cool (11h) : Demovsky just replied to me a bit ago. Jaire hasn't said it.
dfosterf (13h) : Of course, that depends on the definition of "we"
dfosterf (13h) : We have been told that they haven't because he wouldn't accept it. I submit we don't know that
dfosterf (13h) : What is the downside in making a calculated reduced offer to Jaire?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers are receiving interest in Jaire Alexander but a trade is not imminent
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Jalen Ramsey wants to be traded. He's never happy is he?
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : two 1sts in 2022 and two 2nd's in 2023 and 2024
Zero2Cool (15-Apr) : Packers had fortunate last three drafts.
dfosterf (15-Apr) : I may have to move
dfosterf (15-Apr) : My wife just told the ancient Japanese sushi dude not enough rice under his fish
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I think a dozen is what I need
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Go fund me for this purpose just might work. A dozen nurses show up at 1265 to provide mental health assistance.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Maybe send a crew of Angels to the Packers draft room on draft day.
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : I am the Angel that gets visited.
dfosterf (14-Apr) : Visiting Angels has a pretty good reputation
Zero2Cool (14-Apr) : what
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : WINNING IT, not someone else losing it. The best victory though was re-uniting with his wife
Martha Careful (14-Apr) : The manner in which he won it was just amazing and wonderful. First blowing the lead then getting back, then blowing it. But ultimately
Zero2Cool (12-Apr) : I'm guessing since the thumb was broken, he wasn't feeling it.
dfosterf (10-Apr) : Looking for guidance. Not feeling the thumb.
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : If they knew about it or not
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : I don't recall that he did which is why I asked.
Zero2Cool (10-Apr) : Guessing they probably knew. Did he have cast or something on?
Mucky Tundra (10-Apr) : Did they know that at the time or was that something the realized afterwards?
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Van Ness played most of season with broken thumb
wpr (9-Apr) : yay
Zero2Cool (9-Apr) : Mark Murphy says Steelers likely to protect Packers game. Meaning, no Ireland
Zero2Cool (8-Apr) : Struggling to figure out what text editor options are needed and which are 'nice to have'
Mucky Tundra (8-Apr) : *CHOMP CHOMP CHOMP*
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : WR who said he'd break Xavier Worthy 40 time...and ran slower than you
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Who?
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Texas’ WR Isaiah Bond is scheduled to visit the Bills, Browns, Chiefs, Falcons, Packers and Titans starting next week.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : Spotting ball isn't changing, only measuring distance is, Which wasn't the issue.
Zero2Cool (2-Apr) : The spotting of the ball IS the issue. Not the chain gang.
Mucky Tundra (2-Apr) : Will there be a tracker on the ball or something?
