Taysom Hill is getting a lot of love today in the Saints game.
Teddy the terrible made a huge mistake letting him move on.

How many games has he won? I haven't caught any games he's played in.

How many teams throw their "quarterback of the future" out on special teams? I agree he is a real football player but so was Tebow.

I just don't know how anyone can get off saying it was a terrible mistake in not keeping a guy who I haven't (maybe some have?) seen play in games that count.

I don't know if Joe Callahan would have been better than Brett Hundley, or if Taysom Hill would have been.

If we're going to say it was a mistake not keeping 3 QB's, that's a true sign of someone who doesn't the weaknesses of this roster. We needed that spot for depth elsewhere. We lose our QB, we're toast (as we all knew and have witnessed).

If we're going to say it was a mistake keeping Hundley over Hill, I'm open to that, but I'm also going on hindsight here, lol. Some were pining for keeping Hill, but those are the same people who ALWAYS want the new shiny thing regardless, so they don't count.

For those who missed the Panthers at Saints game, today...

Taysom Hill played Special Teams for the Saints. Joe Buck and Troy Aikman spent several minutes of the broadcast speaking to Payton's love of Taysom. Buck said Sean Payton spent more time talking about Taysom Hill over the last two weeks of production meetings than any other player. (Buck and Aikman called back to back Saints games)

Payton told Buck and Aikman that Taysom IS the next QB of the Saints when Brees is done. He absolutely loves him.

Hill made a play on ST's and Payton high-fived him coming off the field with a smile you don't often see on an NFL HC's face.

I can only wonder what might have been had we turned this over to Hill instead of Hundley not even mentioning their respective ceilings.

So, so disappointing seeing Payton celebrating that we released him only to realize what a star in the making he had to be his next franchise QB while we clung to Hundley.

Those who can see talent sure take a lot of heat around here. Barfarn poo pooed the idea that Hill was any big loss. Ask Sean Payton if Hill was a big loss for the Packers. He adds Lattimore, Kamara and his future franchise QB via a Packers cut.

As happy as I was for Taysom to hear he's going to actually get a shot, it just further bummed me out with who we have here making decisions. Thank goodness we have Joe Callahan and Brett Hundley. Watching Hill in future years is going to be "fun". I'm sure our D will have no issues containing him and his 4.3 speed. Why we don't see guys who have special abilities as guy who can really make a difference for us and cling to plain Jane players will always be a mystery to me.

Sorry, to create a Taysom topic... didn't see Yoop's here. Wanted to make sure those who didn't catch the Saints game today heard just how pumped up Payton was that we cut Hill and he's found his next franchise QB.

A gut punch. A total gut punch.
