He's a true physical mismatch and has demonstrated it on multiple occasions in practice. Almost 6'6...long arms and great hands.
When you have all the WR's on the club with their jaws dropped akin to when NBA players are in awe of a guy's dunk at the slam dunk contest, you know you have a guy with some unique ability.
He is a redzone mismatch. Aaron was trying to recruit a 6'7 TE a year or two back so you know he's got to be intrigued by a guy with Clark's height.
If you release him some WR needy team very well may take a chance on him and you lose but can you really keep him?

Here’s some background:
14-15 B-Ball at St Frances as a freshman he played 12 games 43 minutes total; lost his enthusiasm for B-Ball and
15-16 Walked-on at Marshall to play football and redshirted [due to transfer rules]
16-17 Was given a scholarship, became a starting WR and caught 37 passes; 632 yards and 5 TDs
W/ 2 years of eligibility and a damn scholarship Clark jumped. This makes no sense: the guy cant be too bright or something happened that we didn’t hear about.
That picture of the catch is pretty; but it is something every Small forward has done 1000x running the base line on the hoops court fronted by a smaller player. And there are hundreds of athletic 6’5 6’6 6’7 b-ball players with good hands that exit college every year not having NBA futures. If that’s all it took there’d be dozens of them in the NFL.
Also, over the last 5-6 years there has been a glut of WRs. Just about every team is just like us they have a roster full of ‘em and 1 or 2 WRs they’re trying to get on PS.
Maybe, most important, if you put him on the roster; he accrues a season and he becomes a FA one year sooner. If he has potential; you stick him on PS for 1 or 2 years; that means you’ll have low cost control over him for 5 or 6 years, respectively.
There is zero chance Clark doesn’t clear waivers. Even if he gains 200 yards Thursday.
No team will claim this guy; they’d have to put him on the 53.
And not sure why you’d want him. You spoke of rookies being “difference makers;” I of course look for rookies to contribute and this guy will be a 100% nothing burger in ’17, he’s just too raw, and way too small and double raw to play TE, the 2nd hardest position on this team to learn.
