I just don't see what's the hype on Montgomery ... we need a real running back in which Williams will fill in the void.

The hype is real, by the beginning of next year i'll be surprised if the rest of the bandwagon hasn't filled up.

We are talking about Montgomery right?

The WR/RB that has only been in the league for 2 years now which he only has 9 starts as a running back. How is this stat being actually analysed? Counting as of 2016 season week 7 & comparing vs the top running backs, it's irrelevant your practically analysing a stat that would only work towards your favour.

You can practically plug anyone in our backfieldand they'll will product as good as Montgomery has performed. When your a pass first team, opposing defense will tend to lineup more towards a pass play more then your run game. Asides the fact that Montgomery hasn't seen to much action as running back, opposing defense don't expect to much out of him.

I would love to have Montgomery playing as a WR or even as a 2nd halfback on the team for screen passes plays or to have him lined up in the back and make him catch the ball down the field as the opposing LB that will be assuming his a running back will never be able to cover him.

He is not a #1 running back & I do not expect him running the clock down at the end of the games when we are in the lead.

Eddie Lacy should of been our #1 running back & Montgomery should of replaced Starks duties. You need that big running back that's going to pound the opposing defense tire them out & allow you kill that clock at the end of the game.

When we first drafted him I loved his size & weight & I still do believe that he would be a better wide receiver then his going to be a running back.

Here's are the 2016 stats.

Falcons - 17 yards
Dallas - 47 yards
NYG - 27 yards

Week 17 - 44 yards against Lions
Week 16 - 23 yards against Vikings
Week 15 - 162 yards against Bears
Week 14 - 41 yards against Seahawks

As you can see in the past 7 games his only rushed once over 50 yards.

Lacy stats:

Week 1 - 61 yards against Jacksonville
Week 2 - 50 yards against Vikings
Week 3 - 103 yards
Week 4 - bye
Week 5 - 81 yards
Week 6 - 65 yards.

You seem to have ignored the 5.9 yards per attempt which is what most posters and pundits that favor Monty seem to hang their collective hats on. That and his yards after contact which I don't know the exact number off hand but is very favorable.

It is good that Williams and Montgomery are both having good success catching passes. It speaks well for for them and the Packers. Should expand the offensive package .

What I want to hear is that Ty and Jamaal have both improved in their pass blocking skills . I still believe that this year's running attack will be the Trio of Montgomery, Williams , & Ripkowski . [boxing]

Then again, who the hell is going to scheme against a RB when you have Aaron 'freaking' Rodgers!

We'll need all of our best players this season to take us where we want to go and Montgomery is one of them. He's a difference maker, pure and simple.

I'd love to see this. While I was a big fan of Monty ever since his first preseason catch, I really don't get the mindset of trying to change what's worked so great. Even putting on weight's got me concerned. He's got a bunch of talent as a WR and a RB. The more you move him into a RB role the more you're wasting his talent and what gave him so much success to begin with - being able to move him from out wide to the backfield on a whim and being effective in both cases.

Having someone else start at RB means Monty doesn't need to go too far to the RB direction - but he can still carry it 10-15 times a game too.

It's a more natural position for him and plays more to his strengths. I don't see how it wastes his talent at all when being a RB puts him in position to get the ball in his hands A LOT more often. The big benefit to Montgomery playing RB is most defenses use their LBs to cover RBs out of the backfield and if Monty lines up at RB then splits out wide a LB won't be able to keep up with him.

Martha Careful (25-Jun) : I would have otherwise admirably served
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Also, no more provision for a write-in candidate, so Martha is off the table at least for this year
dfosterf (25-Jun) : You do have to interpret the boring fine print, but all stockholders all see he is on the ballot

dfosterf (25-Jun) : of the folks that run this team. I do not recall Mark Murphy being subject to our vote.
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Ed Policy yay or nay is on the pre-approved ballot that we always approve because we are uninformed and lazy, along with all the rest
dfosterf (25-Jun) : Weird question. Very esoteric. For stockholders. Also lengthy. Sorry. Offseason.
