They stack up with some of the best RB in the league?

We are talking about Montgomery right?

The WR/RB that has only been in the league for 2 years now which he only has 9 starts as a running back. How is this stat being actually analysed? Counting as of 2016 season week 7 & comparing vs the top running backs, it's irrelevant your practically analysing a stat that would only work towards your favour.

You can practically plug anyone in our backfieldand they'll will product as good as Montgomery has performed. When your a pass first team, opposing defense will tend to lineup more towards a pass play more then your run game. Asides the fact that Montgomery hasn't seen to much action as running back, opposing defense don't expect to much out of him.

I would love to have Montgomery playing as a WR or even as a 2nd halfback on the team for screen passes plays or to have him lined up in the back and make him catch the ball down the field as the opposing LB that will be assuming his a running back will never be able to cover him.

He is not a #1 running back & I do not expect him running the clock down at the end of the games when we are in the lead.

Eddie Lacy should of been our #1 running back & Montgomery should of replaced Starks duties. You need that big running back that's going to pound the opposing defense tire them out & allow you kill that clock at the end of the game.

When we first drafted him I loved his size & weight & I still do believe that he would be a better wide receiver then his going to be a running back.

Here's are the 2016 stats.

Falcons - 17 yards
Dallas - 47 yards
NYG - 27 yards

Week 17 - 44 yards against Lions
Week 16 - 23 yards against Vikings
Week 15 - 162 yards against Bears
Week 14 - 41 yards against Seahawks

As you can see in the past 7 games his only rushed once over 50 yards.

Lacy stats:

Week 1 - 61 yards against Jacksonville
Week 2 - 50 yards against Vikings
Week 3 - 103 yards
Week 4 - bye
Week 5 - 81 yards
Week 6 - 65 yards.

Montgomery total touched the ball 121 times in the reg season and had 39 first downs
Lacy touched it 75 times for 16 first downs, in 2015 Lacy had 207 touches for 46 first downs only 7 more than MOntgomery added last year.

Had we drafted a player last year who was exactly the same as Montgomery but played RB in college and had a different last name people would be freaking out over how good he was.

The main reason he will start over Ty.

It is good that Williams and Montgomery are both having good success catching passes. It speaks well for for them and the Packers. Should expand the offensive package .

What I want to hear is that Ty and Jamaal have both improved in their pass blocking skills . I still believe that this year's running attack will be the Trio of Montgomery, Williams , & Ripkowski . [boxing]

Williams is. Before the year is over he will be carrying the rock 18-20 a game. It would be more but hey that cuts into Aaron time.

I really do not care who is the starting RB between Montgomery and Williams.

Ty Montgomery has put his time and effort into making a new position work on the biggest stage of this sport. Good on him. He didn't have to switch to RB. I think he is going to excel and as I stated in a previous thread, I think he is going to be our featured back and will have 200+ carries this season.

Now, if Williams is going to come in and give Ty a bump and take some of those carries away, as a fan I couldn't be happier. This will give us a reliable RBBC for the first time in awhile and that only benefits this offense more.

Right now, give me Ty Montgomery in the starting role. He averaged 5.9 ypc last season. The hype is a bit too much at the moment for Williams.

I honestly think the hype on Montgomery is too low atm.

He's a far more versatile weapon than Lacy's fat ass ever was (who preferred a 2nd chance in Seattle). Rodgers has never had a RB this talented to take some of the pressure off him, he's a matchup nightmare and an underrated runner between the tackles.

Some of the posters here are drinking the same kool-aid as me but imo Montgomery is primed to be THE breakout player for the Packers. The offense is stacked and he's the #1 person standing to benefit from all the attention elsewhere.

I liked all 3 RBs the Packers drafted and am interested in seeing if Jamaal Williams or any of the others can contribute in a meaningful way this year. But they're playing for backup reps none of them have a real chance of unseating Montgomery imo.

Mucky Tundra (5h) : The Seattle Seahawks defeat the Chicago Bears 6-3. Jason Myers had 6 RBIs for Seattle while Cairo Santos had 3 RBI for Chicago
beast (6h) : Not nessarily, he might of been injured either way. He's playing about 50% of the games the last 4 years
Zero2Cool (12h) : If they'd been more patient with him, he'd be back already. Putting him out there vs Bears caused him to tweak it and here we are.
packerfanoutwest (12h) : well this is his last season with the PAck, book it
beast (13h) : Sounds like no Alexander (again), I'm wondering if his time with the Packers is done
Zero2Cool (20h) : Could ban beast and I still don't think anyone catches him.
Mucky Tundra (26-Dec) : Houston getting dog walked by Baltimore
packerfanoutwest (25-Dec) : Feliz Navidad!
Zero2Cool (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas!
beast (25-Dec) : Merry Christmas 🎄🎁
beast (24-Dec) : Sounds like no serious injuries from the Saints game and Jacobs and Watson should play in the Vikings game
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : both games Watson missed, Packers won
Martha Careful (24-Dec) : I hope all of you have a Merry Christmas!
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Oh I know about Jacobs, I just couldn't pass up an opportunity to mimic Zero lol
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : Jacobs was just sat down, Watson re-injured that knee that kept him out 1 game earlier
buckeyepackfan (24-Dec) : I needed .14 that's. .14 points for the whole 4th quarter to win and go to the SB. Lol
Mucky Tundra (24-Dec) : Jacobs gonna be OK???
Zero2Cool (24-Dec) : Watson gonna be OK???
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : Inactives tonight for the Pack: Alexander- knee Bullard - ankle Williams - quad Walker -ankle Monk Heath
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : No Jaire, but hopefully the front 7 destroys the line of scrimmage & forces Rattler into a few passes to McKinney.
packerfanoutwest (24-Dec) : minny could be #1 seed and the Lions #5 seed
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : We'd have same Division and Conference records. Strength of schedule we edge them
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I just checked. What tie breaker?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes its possible but unlikely. If we do get the 5th, we face the NFCS winner
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ahh, ok.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : yes due to tie breaker
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I mean, unlikely, yes, but mathematically, 5th is possible by what I'm reading.
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : If Vikings lose out, Packers win out, Packers get 5th, right?
bboystyle (23-Dec) : Minny isnt going to lose out so 5th seed is out of the equation. We are playing for the 6th or 7th seed which makes no difference
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, the ad revenue goes to the broadcast company but they gotta pay to air the game on their channel/network
beast (23-Dec) : If we win tonight the game is still relative in terms of 5th, 6th or 7th seed... win and it's 5th or 6th, lose and it's 6th or 7th
beast (23-Dec) : Mucky, I thought the ad revenue went to the broadcasting companies or the NFL, at least not directly
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I think the revenue share is moot, isn't it? That's the CBA an Salary Cap handling that.
bboystyle (23-Dec) : i mean game becomes irrelevant if we win tonight. Just a game where we are trying to play spoilers to Vikings chance at the #1 seed
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : beast, I would guess ad revenue from more eyes watching tv
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I would think it would hurt the home team because people would have to cancel last minute maybe? i dunno
beast (23-Dec) : I agree that it's BS for fans planning on going to the game. But how does it bring in more money? I'm guessing indirectly?
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : bs on flexing the game....they do it for the $$league$$, not the hometown fans
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I see what you did there Mucky
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : dammit. 3:25pm
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Packers Vikings flexed to 3:35pm
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Upon receiving the news about Luke Musgrave, I immediately fell to the ground
Mucky Tundra (23-Dec) : Yeah baby!
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : LUKE MUSGRAVE PLAYING TONIGHT~!~~~~WOWHOAAOHAOAA yah
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : I wanna kill new QB's ... blitz the crap out of them.
beast (23-Dec) : Barry seemed to get too conservative against new QBs, Hafley doesn't have that issue
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : However, we seem to struggle vs new QB's
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Should be moot point, cuz Packers should win tonight.
packerfanoutwest (23-Dec) : ok I stand corrected
Zero2Cool (23-Dec) : Ok, yes, you are right. I see that now how they get 7th
