Two years ago Montgomery had only a handful of fans who thought he could play RB (although the scouts were pretty split on RB/WR for his final position). Every year though more people are starting to believe, and when you look at the metrics (yards after contact, yards per carry, etc) they stack up with some of the best RB in the league.
The hype is real, by the beginning of next year i'll be surprised if the rest of the bandwagon hasn't filled up.

We are talking about Montgomery right?
The WR/RB that has only been in the league for 2 years now which he only has 9 starts as a running back. How is this stat being actually analysed? Counting as of 2016 season week 7 & comparing vs the top running backs, it's irrelevant your practically analysing a stat that would only work towards your favour.
You can practically plug anyone in our backfieldand they'll will product as good as Montgomery has performed. When your a pass first team, opposing defense will tend to lineup more towards a pass play more then your run game. Asides the fact that Montgomery hasn't seen to much action as running back, opposing defense don't expect to much out of him.
I would love to have Montgomery playing as a WR or even as a 2nd halfback on the team for screen passes plays or to have him lined up in the back and make him catch the ball down the field as the opposing LB that will be assuming his a running back will never be able to cover him.
He is not a #1 running back & I do not expect him running the clock down at the end of the games when we are in the lead.
Eddie Lacy should of been our #1 running back & Montgomery should of replaced Starks duties. You need that big running back that's going to pound the opposing defense tire them out & allow you kill that clock at the end of the game.
When we first drafted him I loved his size & weight & I still do believe that he would be a better wide receiver then his going to be a running back.
Here's are the 2016 stats.
Falcons - 17 yards
Dallas - 47 yards
NYG - 27 yards
Week 17 - 44 yards against Lions
Week 16 - 23 yards against Vikings
Week 15 - 162 yards against Bears
Week 14 - 41 yards against Seahawks
As you can see in the past 7 games his only rushed once over 50 yards.
Lacy stats:
Week 1 - 61 yards against Jacksonville
Week 2 - 50 yards against Vikings
Week 3 - 103 yards
Week 4 - bye
Week 5 - 81 yards
Week 6 - 65 yards.
