No way Ted keeps 7 WRs again this year. That was a fluke last year given the roster composition and the flexibility of Montgomery.

So, WHICH five do we keep?

Given the lack of proven depth, Davante is really the only lock.

Nelson and Cobb have a strong edge to make the 53, but neither has been what they once were. Is it worth it to keep a guy whose skills have eroded if we have to cut a guy who can play but needs a year in the system? After all, it takes a year to develop a rookie in this system. Cobb is young and "has Aaron's trust," so he has an edge. Jordy has alot of experience, but if he doesn't show he can get it done on the outside, he could be on the way out. Don't discount the possibility of a trade either. Ted's got extra guys, he'd love a mid to late round pick for them.

I really like the rookies Yancey and Dupree. But if we keep Nelson and Cobb, there's only two more spots for a WR. Especially with all the TE depth this year. We don't need a bunch of wideouts.

Montgomery makes the team, because they can rationalize him as an RB slash type guy.

Trevor Davis has to show he added bulk in the offseason, can go over the middle and run routes. We already know he can get deep. Fielding punts would go a long way towards solidifying a spot.

Then there's the great white hype, Jeff Janis. Can he learn the playbook? What is this is third or fourth year? Time to shit or get off the pot dude. And oh yeah, learn to catch over your shoulder and with your hands, increase that catch radius. Tons of potential here, IF he can put it all together.

Who am I forgetting? There's at least one UFDA I liked.

Nelson, Cobb and Adams are locks. They'll keep Yancey, Dupree and Davis for a smooth 6. Mccaffrey to the practice squad.

Over 16 games that average would be 112 catches, 1497.6 yards and 14.4 touchdown... which comes pretty dang close to Nelson's career best of 98 catches (2014), 1,519 yards (2014) and 15 touchdowns (2011).

And remember how lots of people were asking what's wrong with Rodgers last year and what's wrong with Rodgers at the start of the season? ... just happens to be the same period of time that Nelson wasn't playing at 100%.

Janis for STs... and maybe Allison as well. That's 6 WRs and ST Janis. 😝

1800+ combined yards and 18 TDs, sure lets contemplate the team will deal Cobb and Jordy because they are not getting it done.
The world needs ditch diggers too Danny!!!

Unless Janis finally puts it together this fall I think he's cut, his special teams play while amazing two years ago diminished last season. Also I think Yancey has the body type to fill his spot pretty well, they'll take the rooks + Davis because they have the most unrealized potential. The only thing that might set that back is if Dupree stops wow'ing us and has a bad training camp + preseason, in which case the Packers might feel confident they can sneak him onto the PS. But everything so far has pointed to Dupree being a 7th round steal who will make the roster imo.

I honestly think Allison has a better shot than Janis, after 4 years he is who he is.

Unless there is another gunner of Janis's quality, how can they let him go? I'd be shocked if that was the case. Some people are really underrating how good he is at that role.

I cannot wait until Janis is gone and I cannot wait to only have 5 on the roster. I'm so tired of how many of this forum are so infatuated by the wr's on the tail end of the roster/practice squad.
