Packers Tackle rankings with the rest of the league and they were 57th and 66th out of 66 prior to this game. That didn't include Bryan Bulaga.

Sure seems the Packers are trying to load up the line to protect Aaron Rodgers. I would rather the Packers give more shallow route, quick throw options than take WR off the field in favor of TE's staying in to help the OL.

Defensive line did fine. Datone penetrated on a number of plays. The Detroit offense scored all of 10 points. Defense wasn't close to the problem. They wore down late, but they were on the field the entire second half.

The offensive line did nothing in the run game. Drops by Boykin and Cobb. Rodgers missed some throws, notably the 4th and 5 to Jordy on the last possession. RBs missed pass blocking assignments. Just an absolutely horrid offensive performance.

Very disappointed in the offense. That was putrid.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.

The defensive line has actually impressed me. As you may recall I was skeptical of the "smaller, quicker" philosophy.

During the game I was thinking I'd like to see someone in the middle run a straight go route to distract the Safeties from the edges... I was thinking Nelson on the edge and someone up the middle might make a Safety make a choice and Rodgers might have the other option one on one.

The offensive and defensive lines are the core of all other efforts. If you don't know that, then you just don't know football. You can't run or pass or defend the run or rush a QB trying to pass without good line play.

That said , this thread is here to discuss Why the Packers O/D-Lines are so bad. I believe that the Packers have just not kept pace with what other teams are doing. We are being outplayed because we are being out manned . Their bouncing our linemen around like they were playing a bad college team. The players are doing their best, but they're just being out muscled . It's a personal problem.

I honestly don't understand why we're talking about the defense at all right now.

dfosterf (4-May) : Google it. Make sure to tack NFL on it or you will get the military meaning
Zero2Cool (4-May) : S2?
beast (4-May) : Seems like the S2 has a love/hate relationship with professional scouts.

dfosterf (4-May) : Are you gentlemen and at least one lady familiar with the S2 cognition
Zero2Cool (4-May) : Maybe there isn't an issue.
beast (4-May) : NFL really needs to fix their position labeling issue, but I don't think they care
Zero2Cool (1-May) : Packers did not activate the fifth-year options for linebacker Quay Walker, with the goal of signing him to a contract extension.
