I honestly don't understand why we're talking about the defense at all right now.

It doesn't need to be all doom and gloom after a loss.

The defense has played pretty well for the last six quarters. Being on the field virtually the entire second half didn't do them any favors. Seemed like Detroit converted an awful lot of third downs right at or past the first down marker. Tackling could have been better. I was pleased with what I saw from Datone on the handful of plays I just watched him. Seems like the pressure is getting close but not sealing the deal. Still, a 19-point performance -- with 9 of those coming off a safety and a fumble/TD by the offense -- is more than enough to get a win.

Just ... a terrible showing on offense. I personally haven't ever been disgusted by the offense. Nowhere to go in the run game. Key drops. Key missed throws. RBs missing blocking assignments. A-Rod playing tentatively holding onto the ball too long. Not sure about the receivers, but it's hard to believe they were getting open.

I think it's time to take a long hard look at Aaron Rodgers. We have to remember these are the first few games after his broken collar bone. He played at Chicago and in playoffs vs. SF. Seattle, NYJ and today. He's not been particularly good in any of the 5 games since his injury. Yes, he had a nice 2nd half with Jordy last week, but he's been pretty average otherwise. I guess that is a function of playing vs. some better teams.

How does Aaron Rodgers play like this vs. a terrible Detroit secondary? How? Seattle was on him... today is on him. Rocky Syndrome...I'm telling you. This guy has his ring, the accolades, commercials every other minute during NFL games, and the huge contract. I don't think he has the desire he once had.

One must consider the year he won league MVP he had little running game and Marshall freaking Newhouse as one of his tackles. To do what he did behind that line he had back when he won the MVP is nothing short of miraculous. His line isn't that bad now compared to then but he is nowhere near as good plus he actually has a legit RB. It doesn't add up that this doesn't have everything to do with Aaron Rodgers. If it is about Aaron, I look nowhere else than motivation which I don't think he has anymore. People need to write him off and he needs companies to tell him he's not as marketable anymore to get his edge back. He's all world with an edge...okay without.

What a waste to get what is likely one of the few good defensive performances we'll see all year and follow that with that kind of offense. UGLY.

I think the real problem is that Rodgers' parents are muggles and the Lions were making rude comments. It got to his head. More of a Hermione Syndrome. SMH.

I agree with the basic argument that Ufda is bringing up and in fact thought the same driving back from the game today. I don't agree that it's a function of motivation, but we've been busy pointing fingers at everyone else and it seems like he's getting a bit of an MVP pass.

He refused to look at the right side of the field vs. Seattle, he's forced it to Jordy esp. vs. the Jets, he's had his fair share of odd decisions (3rd down pass when could have run for 1st down v. Seattle) and inaccurate throws. His completion % has been under 60 twice, his QB rating 10+ points below his career rating twice so far.

Admittedly it's a small sample size against some good defenses. I'm not pushing the panic button nor am I saying he's the only one to blame. However, Uffda is right, he just hasn't been very sharp thus far.

From Ted Thompson on down, I think that's not there. Even most fans, you included, are happy and comfortable with our run of good fortune. Complacency comes before dismantling. We're in the complacency phase... what comes next seems to be in progress right now.

The odd thing is if you listen to MM he reiterated the great feeling he had back in TC...the best he'd ever been a part of according to him. If we were so good in the pre-season and the work was the best it's ever been then why are the results as poor as they have been? Why? There is an answer. You may not like it or mock my suggestion, but I ask you to offer up a better explanation.

BTW, I thought this team had Rocky Syndrome ever since Rodgers won his NFL MVP. It does NOT realize it's just not that good. It is much like many fans here who this just doesn't compute to. The only thing that doesn't compute to me is how our passing game was this inept vs. that bad of a secondary.

How many more losses will it take to wake you?

They played like trash today on offense. There's no excuse for that. But rather than grasping at straws or fabricating motivation theories (do you read tarot cards, too?), I chalk it up to an ugly day. And they need to get it straightened out in a hurry.

Rodgers didn't bring his A-game today. Or even his B-game. But I wasn't left with the impression that it was because he's unmotivated.

And congratulations for patting yourself on the back about why this team is underperforming. Self-serving sonuvabitch.
