I thought this was a "character building" win, to espouse a little coach-speak. Hard to start a game worse than that -- the fumble, quick score, and New York's domination of both lines of scrimmage.
Was discouraged by some of the calls to go for field goals, but in the end the safe points all added up to keeping the game within reach. And Crosby has to get credit for smackin' that 55-yarder.
Offensively it was disappointing to abandon the run in the first half. Not just after we were down a buttload, but after giving up the first and second scores. This has happened a lot with early deficits. Still, the offense found a rhythm -- just couldn't turn long drives into TDs.
Second half was a different game. Once we got a few stops defensively it provided some hope. The third-down conversions in the first half ... woof.
Big play by Jordy, who had a key drop in the 4th but otherwise bailed Rodgers out on a few throws. Where are the tight ends through two games? Davonte looked good. I also think Green Bay needs to keep using Cobb in different ways. Had a couple of carries -- and though they didn't amount to much -- Green Bay should keep getting him touches.
Run defense shored up in the second half -- and if I'm not mistaken, a big chunk came on that option play with Geno to Kerley -- but I'm still not satisfied.
Pass rush was getting close but didn't seal the deal enough. Geno is mobile. Peppers with the near pick late.
These are my thoughts.
William Henderson didn't have to run people over. His preferred method was levitation.
