Any NFL draft is considered a success if you can get 3 solid contributors out of it. When you add in the UFA we certainly got that. I think it's also a little early to evaluate. Typically the re-evaluation is done after 3 seasona, so let's see how Perry and Hayward stand after this year.

I will also reiterate that injuries are not busts. A draft wrecked because the best players got hurt is unfortunate but it doesn't mean they were bad picks.

injuries make busts. period.

if you are not producing on the field either by sucking, or not being on it you are bust.

Most drafts classes have mostly bust as most NFL players bust... no real surprise there.

Hayward looks very talented and if he stays healthy might be a starter for the long term and Daniels looks like he might be growing into that as well.

Jerel Worthy did come on nicely towards the end of his rookie season. Omitting that is just foolish. I think what stings most about giving up a 2nd rounder for what's probably going to be a 5th rounder at best is what the Packers gave up to get said 2nd round selection.

Packers gave their second (59th) and fourth round (123rd) selections for Jerel Worthy at 51st overall in the second round.

Eagles picked up Vinny Curry and Brandon Boykin.

The "average" NFL team also goes out and acquires free agents to supplement the draft ESPECIALLY when it is a weak draft year.

more from Rob Demovsky

Aaron Rodgers did not mention anyone by name, but it's entirely possible that he was referring to the Green Bay Packers' 2011 and 2012 draft classes when he made a rather cryptic comment on Wednesday.

The Packers quarterback was asked about this year's rookie class.

And his answer was both a compliment to this group and a shot at ones that came before it.

"I think you're seeing it with this draft class, the maturity about them, the lack of the entitlement that maybe we've seen in some other draft classes," Rodgers said. "They've come in and worked really hard. It's going to be a tough cut down."

see the chart in the article.

Of the 18 players Thompson selected in those two drafts, only seven still remain on his roster. The 38.9 percent retention rate is the lowest in the NFL from the those two drafts (see accompanying chart below).

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."
