that 2012 draft is really looking like one of Teddy's failures.

1. Perry:
-15/32 games unavailable to injury.
-out of scheme when drafted
-coaches play him out of his best position

2. Worthy: TOAST! (pending)
-16/32 games unavailable to injury.
-Torn ACL
-Messed up back *Justin Harrell*

3. Hayward:
-15/32 games unavailable due to injury
-Infamous "lingering hammy"

4.Daniels
-got some sacks last year.

5. Jerron McMillan: GONE!

6.Terrel MAnning: KICKED!

7.Andrew Datko: DONE!

8. B.J. Coleman: POOF!

so we got 1 rotational guy... and 2 oft-injured reserve defenders.

good thing we extended 🇹🇹. I bet he is laughing his ass off.

The 2011 draft wasn't much better, maybe, Sherrod can salvage some semblance of production.. but im not holding my breath.

Already posted this in the last thread..... But in my continuous fight against doom and gloom ; Perry I still have hopes for, although they are dimming by the day. Daniels looks like he has upside. And Heyward is great when healthy, which he is now. Other than that bad, but GM's have done worse.

Right behind you on the re-post thing.

Don't forget these guys.

2012 UDFA's
G Don Barclay
TE Brandon Bostick
WR Jarrett Boykin
RB DuJuan Harris
S Sean Richardson

Just goes to show what a crap shoot the draft can be and that the draft isn't over when "Mr. Irrelevant" is chosen.

Edit: I do agree, that 2012 will not go down as one of Teds best.

Worthy dealt for a "late round selection" to New England... so, we turned a 2nd into a later rounder. Another swing and a miss on a defensive player picked high in the draft.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

Mike Daniels was our best defensive lineman last year. He's a projected starter this year. How is he just a "rotational guy"? Unless you're going to be pedantic and point out that all defensive linemen rotate, I don't see how you can make that case right now.

I will say this for our GM... he does know how to find quality goods at the dollar store. If it wasn't for his ability to pull the Sam Shields of the world he would be among the worst GM's in the league.

Just imagine if he was able to hit on DL and do a better overall job up high especially on defensive players.

Aaron Rodgers saves his rep time and time again.

But that's not saying much.

23 tackles is hardly irreplaceable.

6 sacks is impressive from his position... But so far that is nothing but a fluke.

Ted needs to quit dicking around and actually pick up guys who fit our scheme.

Most drafts classes have mostly bust as most NFL players bust... no real surprise there.

Hayward looks very talented and if he stays healthy might be a starter for the long term and Daniels looks like he might be growing into that as well.

1. Perry: INJURIES
2. Worthy: INJURIES
3. Hayward: INJURY
4.Daniels: Getting it done
5. Jerron McMillan: Shit himself
6.Terrel MAnning: Sickness
7.Andrew Datko: INJURY Ted rightly took a flyer on Datko. Calculated risk.
8. B.J. Coleman: Shit himself.

Seems to me the biggest problem here is keeping these guys healthy.

Failure is a strong word. I would say that as far as first round picks, Ted is not doing a good job overall. The man finds value though. You cannot deny that he has hit on some later round guys. He's not infallible, but he really a great scout and a top 5 GM in my opinion.
