There's no way you are going to tell me that some guy who literally LIVES for the draft and spends his freetime visiting bumf*ck nowhere to check out some random unknown prospect gave up on even a 7th round pick let alone gave up in the 3rd round and didn't care who he picked.

Of course when it didn't work he did the best he could.

I would love to know if there was any temptation whatsoever to take Manziel there. He had to feel like he was sitting on a winning lotto ticket when Manziel fell to 21... he could take "Elvis" or he could trade down in grand style and accumulate more precious picks.

Ultimately, he chose to hang at 21. Very surprising...unless...he was that committed to wanting Ha Ha, or he didn't want Minnesota to land Manziel. We'll never know if he talked to the Eagles and what role they played in all this because they were said to be coveting Ha Ha.

Ted Thompson sits on his hands per former GM: "because they’ve had 25 fricking years of great quarterbacks. Of course it works. Try it without a special quarterback."

I just want to see if Ha Ha can play play for us us.

Vikings, Packers and Lions don't trade, that's just the way it works.

Cleveland did call of course offering a third and #26 for #21.

I'm 100% convinced about what happened, Thompson put Cleveland on hold and tried to negotiate his 2nd and two 3rds for another first round pick, planning to get two out of a list of 6-8 very good players that remained on the board.

Thompson didn't like Ha-Ha Clinton Dix, he was aiming to take Bucanon plus another 1st rounder.

When the trade didn't work we took CD and Thompson was pissed, he never ever traded again, he probably put his usual trade partners in the doghouse for the failed trades.

That explains the no-trades and why the very strange selections in round 3, we never planned to really use those picks.

4) Ted really wanted to draft Manziel and then trade him or stash him as a backup but couldn't do it with the need we had at safety

If you ask me I have no idea.
