Not having Rodgers shouldn't be a stressor anytime soon. 8 years left with him playing at or near his peak should be about right - Peyton is 37 or 38. I wouldn't be surprised to see Rodgers make it to 40 or more.
As for replacing him, obviously neither Flynn nor Tolzien would be that. The time would be 2-4 years before Rodgers retires. However, not knowing exactly when that is, I'd say about 5-6 years from now, a little sooner if a flat out bargain falls to us like when we drafted Rodgers.
As for the immediate situation, IMO, Tolzien is a better player. Forget "upside" - I'm talking ability. His only problem last season was not having the benefit of training camp to learn and prepare. With that, he should be head and shoulders better than Flynn, and probably a lot cheaper too.
