It is probably more Rettig vs Tolzien.

And Tolzien is out of PS elligbility.

Flynn is not unbeatable, and Tolzien has plenty of skill. Maybe it's wishful thinking, but it wouldn't surprise me at all to see Tolzien stand out and move ahead of Flynn in the preseason. Both should get plenty of opportunity to show what they can do. With all the depth at so many positions, I don't think they will keep 3 QBs.

Maybe we can get a low round draft pick out of Tolzien. Matt Flynn is our current day Doug Pederson.

I really can't see Ted and Mike going into the start of the season with just Tolzien as the backup, or just Flynn.

Not after last year,

I'm betting they keep 3 for this year.

Tolzien is really going to have to make a huge impression in pre-season for Ted to let Flynn go, just don't think he's ready.

There was talk of carrying 6 receivers this year, with the injury to Abredaris and Janis now just getting on the field, The Packers may just go with 5.

Janis can be stashed on the PS.

Maybe only 4 TE's.

Could be 1 less LBr.

Tolzien doesn't know who is open yet. A great arm means absolutely nothing if he doesn't know where the open guy is going to be.

I don't see any reason to keep him. He isn't going to be a starter for us. Rodgers will probably be around for 8-9 more years. We don't need to hang a project on the 53. We can put Rettig on the PS and have 3 QBs. We won't be going into a game with 3 active. If one gets hurt, you activate the guy off the PS.

I forgot to mention, you activate the PS guy and go find a scrap heap guy in case the backup gets hurt also.

I was excited about Tolzien last year but he had issues with accuracy and staying cool. Looks like he righted a lot of what was wrong in the offseason. Flynn's a known commodity that has likely reached his peak. Tolzein's got more potential upside.

Whatever happens the situation looks a hell of a lot better than it did last year.
