Adam Schefner said this morning that the Giants, Bills, and Packers have all talked to Kansas City.

I wouldn't mine Tony G for a 3rd rounder at all. In fact I'd do it in a heartbeat, but I don't think Ted Thompson has the confidence to make a mid season deal.

I hope I'm wrong, but I agree with you. I think Tony would help the Packers AND our young TE's big time a lot more than a 3rd rounder. We can't keep drafting for the future otherwise the the future won't ever come.

I with with some of that Tony Gonzalez isn't the "missing piece" or "going to put us over the edge". But

He's a play maker and maybe the best TE in the NFL. Gonzalez could open up the offense more than Lee could. And he would be the best blocking TE on the roster.

I mean just think of lining up with, Jennings, Driver, Jones, Nelson and Gonzalez.

Somebody is going to get open.

No he's not going to makes us great, but he helps open everything up. Whose going to stop him?

Since 2003, he's got at least 900 yards every season and that's with some of those years where with pretty bad QBs playing for him. Also he has only missed one game since 2000.

So he's not going to make the Packers great, but there is no doubt he would help a lot after learning the system, which the Packers will have the bye soon which would help him with that.

Sun, Oct 12 Ralph Vacchiano, of the New York Daily News, reports the New York Giants are showing interest in Kansas City Chiefs TE Tony Gonzalez. A report in the Kansas City Star said the Giants are showing the most interest, but their offer of a sixth-round pick was much lower than what the Chiefs were looking for.

Heck we could steal him for a 5th!

I'll never mind bringing a playmaker to this team, especially if it's an offensive play maker. I jus know Ted Thompson won't pull the trigger. We don't really need Tony but he'll make us better, no doubt.

MMQB.. by King

5. I think there's a 50-50 chance Tony Gonzalez goes to the Giants, Bills or Packers. I think there's a 5-95 chance Roy Williams leaves Detroit.

Would be nice, but he's a better fit in NY. They will push for him, and he'd get to go to the contender he wants.

I don't know.........isn't he getting kind of old?
Is he still as good as he once was?
I don't follow the Chiefs, so i don't really know if he's all that anymore.

If we are going to deal with KC.. then why not trade a multiplayer deal..

Go after say Ronnie Edwards (Vet DT) or Brian Waters (Vet G) as well.. both are aging vets.. they are starving for picks to rebuild.. sweeten the pot for them and add a couple of more players to help this line starved team here in GB.

Would love to see him a Packer. Why? If I could pinpoint a weakness in our team, it's the O not staying on the field. Gonzalez would help us greatly in getting first downs. That's huge.

We start eating some clock, and it will help cover up the weaknesses we have on D.

A 3rd rounder for him is a steal. I hope we pull the trigger.

I read where Jared Allen got ahold of Gonzo and wanted to know if he wanted to go to the Vikings.

After thinking about this I thought it could be a good move for him.

Catching around 15 balls a year can do a lot to extend a guys career.
