I've seen players do it before but not quite this emphatically. Call for the review I mean. When he jumped up the first place he looked was to the ref and as soon as he saw the incomplete pass signal he went crazy. When a guy goes that nuts you just know he caught the ball.

But I've seen the same thing with INT, when a guy would get one like Williams first INT (which was over turned), and the ref call it correctly in the first place as the tip of the ball clearly was loose and touched the ball, as they landed it to catch it. And then flipped out when the refs said the ball hit the ground.

When he jumped up the first place he looked was to the ref and as soon as he saw the incomplete pass signal he went crazy. When a guy goes that nuts you just know he caught the ball. I also loved the way he says he wouldn't give the ref the ball back so they would review it. Smart of McCarthy to call the TO to give them the chance. I was wondering if they would. I know the cowboys hurried to get the next play off and it looked like they did actually snap the ball but the TO was called just in time. Of course they gave the TO back because the booth did decide to review it after all but it was close. Too close actually.

Would McCarthy had been penalized if he had thrown the flag. I know that throwing the flag on plays that are not reviewable can be a no no but what about plays that are initiated by the booth? If so that is wrong. Had we been out of time outs we may have been screwed had the refs not decided to review it or had they been too slow. The coach needs to be able to make the challenge anytime he feels the need as long as he has a challenge left.

Anyway, that may have been my favorite play of all time based on the reaction of the player afterwards. You notice he wasn't nearly as vocal on the one that was reversed that he didn't catch.

not sure if it was these announcers or the lions game ... but it was suggested that they allow ref calls to be challenge-able also.

Seems to me the mafia didn't want us to win that game.

We beat the 'Gurlz AND the officials. It can be done.

If the booth is going to be in charge of reviews in the last 2 minutes they need to be looking at every single play to see if there is a reason to review. During the rest of the game if a coach is unsure of a call and he decides not to throw the flag that is his prerogative but if you take that opportunity away from the coach you have the responsibility to make sure each play is looked at.

I'd even like to add certain penalties to the challenge list. Not holding or PI or some of the subjective calls but...oh...maybe something like... ILLEGAL MOTION. I think the coaches should be able to challenge if they think a defensive lineman was drawn off sides and if a booth official sees that the guys on the field screwed up by missing the movement they should call for their own review.

That's a fairly subjective call in a lot of cases and in a lot of cases they may be right. What is called on one play ma y not be called on another. It's the way the game has evolved. Its like the holding calls that you could call on every play if you wished. Almost every pass play has some sort of interference if you wanted to be a prick about it and not let the guys play.

As far as the Interceptions, yeah I have seen that as well but like I said I have never seen a player act as animated as Williams did after this one. When I saw his reaction to the incomplete pass call I was reminded of Favre and his Super Bowl run onto the field with his arms raised. The way he (Williams) was making the "throw the flag" motion I though he might dislocate his shoulder. I just knew he had caught that pass. He didn't react like that after the first one because he probably knew that he didn't really catch it, even though he will contend that he thought he did. The reaction that I saw told me he wasn't really convinced he did.

Lousy calls are lousy calls. Some officiating crews do a better job than others.

You sir need to admit you were wrong in one of your two comments. I don't care which one. You can not say that the refs will slant their calls to GB because GB was the perceived weaker team and then say the refs had a plan to favor Dallas with their calls. Which of the two are you going to admit that you wrong?

I've posited the theory in the past that Favre threw many of those INTs on purpose. And took that sack for Strahan's record on purpose. I'm beginning to suspect the same of Romo. Shit's definitely a pattern with him.
