I've seen guys go crazy like that and be wrong... just like Dez Bryant went crazy with the holding call against him (which was a good call). Or Golden Tate swearing up and down that he didn't push off of no one dearing the "fail mary" play, which many people called him a liar because he clearly and totally shoved Shields away, but I don't think he was (knowing lying) as much as he just deleted it from his memory (or didn't record it) as it was happening and honestly didn't remember the shove.
But I've seen the same thing with INT, when a guy would get one like Williams first INT (which was over turned), and the ref call it correctly in the first place as the tip of the ball clearly was loose and touched the ball, as they landed it to catch it. And then flipped out when the refs said the ball hit the ground.
