Here are some quotes from McCarthy:

[ul] * "Where we go from here is we get them in tomorrow and we need to demand more. We need to do a better job demanding as a staff to get it done the right way from the players. I'm not happy with the way it's going as far as the fundamentals. We're making common mistakes, things you're stressing in practice, and we need to clean it up. Our house is messy right now and it needs to be cleaned up. Nobody's happy about it."
* On Aaron Rodgers: "I thought he performed at a high level. He was definitely affected by the shoulder. He didn't throw with the velocity he is capable of. I thought he was effective managing the game."
* "Aaron Rodgers stepped up today. We talked about the health of our football team and we needed people to step up. Aaron stepped up today.
* "We need to play four quarters. If we would have played four quarters likes we did in the final two quarters, the outcome would have been different."[/ul]

From Aaron Rodgers:

[ul]* "It's definitely painful. I felt like I played pretty well minus the one critical error that cost us seven points and the game."
* "I was told before the game that I couldn't re-injure it if I played."
* The shoulder was the reason why he didn't hit Jennings when he was open on that play. "Unfortunately I ran out of arm on that one."
* "We really have not played a complete game yet and it's disappointing for everyone involved. I know it's five games in but we're going to Seattle and we need to get a win."
* Rodgers said he expects to play next week.[/ul]

Other odds and ends:

[ul]* Basically no one knows how Jermichael Finley got called for that holding call on the field goal.
* Charles Woodson also had some choice words for the officials on Patrick Lee's pass interference penalty.
* The defensive backs gave a lot of credit to Matt Ryan and Roddy White for what they were able to do.
* Everyone's concerned about the lack of pressure on the quarterback.[/ul]

Interesting... still love this team. I didn't see the penalties but I rarely do haha so I will just let them be.

Those pass interferience penalties are pure crap. The way they changed the rules a few years back, really ruins the game IMO. its so damn touchy..

And thats only sometimes! I have no clue what a pass interfierence penalty is anymore. I dont think anyone does.

I think we need to start mixing in some more 3-4 looks with a blitzing LB to get some pressure on the QB.

Monty and Kampy on the ends and Pickett at Nose.

Blitz Poppinga and Barnett regularly and let Chillar and Hawk play pass protection.

It might not work, but what we are doing now isn't working either.

I thought I heard something at the beginning of the year about new blitz packages. Well when are we going to open those packages? I'm tired of giving QBs all day to find a reciever when ours is running for his life so much.

Yup, I'd sure like to see us blitzing more. Blitzing early on can ruffle the opposing QB and potentially throw the tempo of the game our way from the start. We have the pass rushing talent but they're being under-utilized. Time to change things up a bit and add some pressure. IMHO Bob Sanders has been way too conservative up until now and needs to step up and take some risks.

I didn't like the Pat Lee penalty either. I think Lee was a little under confident. his body language singled that he thought maybe he did something. I think that's why the ref threw the late flag, not because he actually saw pass interference.

I think the defense needs to shake things up. I'd fire Bob Sanders right now and promote Winston Moss to the defensive coordinator duties. I hope I'm wrong about the defense and it's just the injuries, but I have a bad feeling.

Mucky Tundra (5h) : Now that's a thought, maybe they're looking at the college ranks? Maybe not head coaches but DC/assistant DCs with league experience?
beast (6h) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (6h) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (6h) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (9h) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.

buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : I forgot, they corrected the call a week later. Lol btw HAPPY BIRTHDAY dhazer!
buckeyepackfan (26-Jan) : That brings up the question, why wasn't Nixon down by contact? I think that was the point Kanata was making.

beast (23-Jan) : I wonder why the Jets always hire defensive coaches to be head coach
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
