I would feel a little better if I would once see MM come unglued on this team, or should I say specific portions of this team that repeatedly make the same mental errors.

Actually, I don't see McCarthy being a nuclear dude who'll blow up on a player/team.

If a player still struggles with things like poor footwork, pad level, and fundamentals after repeated attempts of coaching him to be better at those things, I think McCarthy will speak through his actions. He'll bench the player.

That, IMO, is better than getting all yell-happy on a player.

I would be more apt to agree with you if I seen a couple of the interior lineman.. cough*** Colledge *** riding the pines for an extended period.. but it never comes.

I am not saying going an Iron Mike explosion.. but I would like to see him bark a little at Grant for fumbling again.. or Bjack for another gaff.. at someone while a already nicked Rodgers gets flat out nailed by a guy no one even looked at, let alone blocked. And it wasn't like he was a blitz pick failure.. he was lined up wide on the line..

In other words.. flash a little of that intensity that you desire out of your players. They feed off your comments.. case in point see the players comments about footwork and maintaining a block.. carbon copy of MM today.. flash a little nasty.

MM needs to be more aggressive and not so dang predictable and "safe." I hate the word safe. It's my least favorite word in the English language. Well, actually, my 2nd. Cowboys is my least favorite word.

Our OL needs to block.

We need to start converting 3rd downs.

We do these things, we can go into the BYE 4-3 or even 5-2. We can beat Indy. The question is, do we want it badly enough? I know Kampy does. I know Greg Jennings does. I know Charles Woodson does. Now if the rest of the team would play like these 3 players...

Almost counts for the next game.
It is true we won against the Lions but the "almost lose" is a good indication we were going to have problems with Dallas and Tampa.

Good teams destroy the Lions, they don't face themselves down by 1 in the 4th qtr.

How did Dallas do against the Lions last year? They were a good team then too.

That being said I partially agree with you.

Who knows what MM is like behind closed doors?
He might be chewing them a new butt hole. (I kind of hope he is!)
These guys have looked dead on the field. No one is getting fired up, yelling at guys to get it together. Sometimes THAT is what you need. Someone thats tired of half-assed play, and wants to WIN.

Its certainly been a long time since I've been so upset after a Green Bay game.

This week against Atlanta, I don't even care if they win. The only thing I care about is seeing improvement. A running game, some O-line protection and some D-Line pressure on Matt Ryan would make me happy. If we lose, sure, it stinks, but improvement would be nice.

And for those who see the glass as half-empty...it could be worse, we could be St. Louis or Oakland Raider fans.

People sure have gotten carried away with the negativity. I'm pretty discouraged by this loss, especially because it came on the heels of the loss to the Cowboys, but it's still way too early to be sure if the Packers will continue to struggle like this for the rest of the season.

This is the NFL, where parity is king, and things can change very quickly. The Giants last year is as good an example as any. The Redskins this year are another good example. They looked lackluster and poorly coached in their opening day loss to the Giants, and since then they've put together three nice victories, including an away game at Dallas, which is arguably the best team in the league right now.

I wonder if maybe the Packers were so keyed up for that first game against the Vikings that they've suffered a letdown. I realize that this is no excuse for the way they've played, and that three weeks is a long time for a letdown, but still, I think they are in a funk and they will play better. Let's hope that Aaron Rodgers is ready to go on Sunday. Otherwise, we face the very real possibility of a home loss to the Falcons.

I also hate the Safe plays were calling and i agree that i want to see some aggressive calls but my guess is the reason we havent seen those aggressive plays is because of the impact mistakes will take due to #4 leaving. Remember Rodgers is going to compared to Favre and my guess is MM knows and is trying to call things safe for a while to let people forget about favre. I believe in Rodgers but there are A LOT of people who when Rodgers has a bad day are going to flip out and i think that is why MM is going to call some plays safe that he wouldnt have last year. IDK it makes sense in my head.

I am also big time miffed about the playcalling although the real low productivity on the ground game ain't helping matters either. I still predict a 9-7 record. We should be fine judging the division. We gotta beat them Bears though!
