Called the Wynn cut. Hargrove wasn't showing anything special. What about Merling?

Did they really cut CJ Wilson? If so, that's a surprise to me.

Wynn has been cut.. but seen no mention of Wilson. That to me would be a shock.

My gawd.. a QB got touched in practice and hit the ground. [aiee]

Never mind the other 89 guys beating themselves to a pulp.. the QB and his damn red "don't you dare touch me" jersey.

The punter probably takes more abuse in camp than the glory boys... candy asses.

Now.. Apparently Kuhn tried to set the world a little straight today.. shaving cream pie in the face to Rodgers.

I will wait for someone the condemn that.. maybe even MM... I am sure that practice will be abolished.. citing some damn bubble wrap mentality of a reason applied to the QB.

BTW.. Beast.. this has nothing to do with you or your post.. has everything to do with the mindset that a QB is off limits in camps across the nation.

We shall see if they are right. . or guessing.

[Update: An NFL source has told Wes Hodkiewicz that DeMarco Cosby has been waived.]

The Packers haven’t announced yet their roster moves that will reduce their roster to 75 players by today’s 3 p.m. deadline, but it appears they can get there by cutting only one healthy player, defensive lineman Jarius Wynn, and making all their other moves based on their injury lists.

Wynn and injured defensive lineman Johnny Jones, who hasn’t passed his pre-camp physical, weren’t at practice Monday. Wynn is healthy, and Jones had attended every practice in camp even though he was injured. So it appears as though both have been released, Jones presumably with an injury settlement.

The Packers thus have to reduce their roster by eight more players by 3 p.m. today. They have eight injured players who appear to be good candidates for roster moves.

One, linebacker Desmond Bishop, is likely to go on injured reserve because of a torn hamstring sustained in camp. Three others are on the active/physically unable to perform list and thus can be moved to reserve/PUP and not count on the roster: tackle Derek Sherrod, tight end Andrew Quarless and outside linebacker Frank Zombo. All three attended practice Monday, as they have all camp. If they’re put on reserve/PUP, they can’t play or practice for the first six weeks of the season.

Four others are injured players who were long-shots to make the roster, and thus could be put on IR or, more likely, waived with an injury settlement: running back Du’ane Bennett, fullback Jon Hoese, tight end DeMarco Cosby and receiver Shaky Smithson.

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Thank you. I rarely get sick, and even more rarely sick to the point I can't work.
wpr (22-Jan) : Beast- back to yesterday, I CAN say OSU your have been Michigan IF the odds of making the playoffs were more urgent.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Glad to hear you are feeling a bit better.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : I've been near death ill last several days, finally feel less dead and site issues.
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : It is a big deal. This host is having issues. It's frustrating.
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : just kidding...it was down
Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
beast (21-Jan) : Also in college football, is a bye week a good or bad thing?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : The tournament format was fine. Seeding could use some work.
beast (21-Jan) : You can't assume Ohio State would of won the Michigan game...
beast (21-Jan) : Rankings were 1) Oregon 2) Georgia 3) Texas 4) Penn State 5) Notre Dame 6) Ohio State, none of the rest mattered
wpr (21-Jan) : Texas, ND and OSU would have been fighting for the final 2 slots.
wpr (21-Jan) : Oregon and Georgia were locks. Without the luxury of extra playoff berths, Ohios St would have been more focused on Michigan game.
wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : FG to make it academic
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : and there's the dagger
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooo 8 point game with 4 minutes to go!
Mucky Tundra (21-Jan) : ooooooooohhhhhh he missed!
