Smart move for the team. Can't help the team much being injured and if there is a battle for the position, he was already losing it by sitting out. If he was only going to be kept to be used for depth, there are certainly cheaper options for that.

I think signing someone like Leonhard would be a huge risk. He is coming off of major knee surgery, not even a year ago. Stick with the young guns and let them battle.

This is the first "Whoaaaa!" moment of training camp for me.

I was hoping he would get beat out for the starter job, but he didn't look that bad in the 2010 title run when he had to fill in. Sure, he sucked last year, but if we cut everyone on D who sucked last year, we'd have 9 or 10 new starters.

So would that lean more towards Woody and Burnett, then MD Jennings when Woody moves back to the slot?
