According to LeRoy Butler, Aaron Rodgers has a new contract. I didn't see a source from his tweet.

Aaron Rodgers extention almost done, 5 years 96$ million. He is way under paid,? thoughts?

Here's a few words that Aaron Rodgers said to Jason Wilde late last season.

It’s not something I think about. We were so blessed to be able to have that contract done in 2008. We knew at the time that was more money than I ever could have imagined signing for, and it was a no brainer for me. But we knew if I performed the way I felt I was capable of performing, that by league standards that by the time I got into my third or fourth or fifth season, that I’d be underpaid by league standards.

But I don’t look at it that way. I look at it as I’m fortunate to make the kind of money I make and be in the situation I’m in and be with the Packers’ organization. I want to retire as a Packer. They know that, the fans know that, my teammates know that, and this is where I want to be. I’m not worried about (a new contract). We’re still a few years away from me completing this deal, and whenever it comes time to make a new deal, I’m looking forward to maybe signing my last deal, playing it out, and retiring.

Aaron Rodgers also believes the Packers should extend Clay Matthews and B.J. Raji before redoing his contract.

Unfortunately, this was squashed...

You'd think LeRoy Butler would have a legit source to say something like this. 🤔

Geez. I remember when Sterling Sharpe made $1 million a year and thought that was a lot of money. Have no idea what good numbers are now.

Currently...

Aaron Rodgers
2012-13 is set to make $8 million
2013-14 is set to make $9.25 million

Peyton Manning
2012-13 is set to make $18 million
2013-14 is set to make $20 million

Tom Brady
2012-13 is set to make $950,000 (this shocked me)
2013-14 is set to make $9.75 million

Eli Manning
2012-13 is set to make $1.75 million
2013-14 is set to make $13 million

Drew Brees
2012-13 is set to make $15.76 million

If he were to get 5 years, $96 million (we'll make it an even pay out) that would come to $19.2 million a year. Seeing LeRoy's tweet would leave you to believe that isn't a good contract and that he is underpaid.

That would have put him at #2 currently, behind P. Manning. I'm not a huge contract guy...don't know enough about them to have great input but I would say that is a pretty damn good contract. Rodgers already has a Lombardi, a Super Bowl MVP, and a Reg Season MVP...he has to be somewhere close to Peyton's contract when it is truly redone.

I wouldn't be surprised if Aaron Rodgers signs for something like $12-14 million per year.

packerfanoutwest (26-Jan) : Browns, Dolphins have longest AFC Championship droughts
packerfanoutwest (26-Jan) : As of today, Cowboys have longest NFC Championship drought,

Zero2Cool (24-Jan) : Raiders hired someone from the elderly home.

Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Fake news. Cowboys say no
Zero2Cool (23-Jan) : Mystery candidate in the Cowboys head coaching search believed to be Packers ST Coordinator Rich Bisaccia.

Martha Careful (22-Jan) : you were blocked yesterday, due to a a recalcitrant demeanor yesterday in the penalty box for a recalcitrant demeanor
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Was that site shutdown on your end or mine? No big deal, just curious
beast (21-Jan) : That way teams like Indiana and SMU don't make the conference championships by simply avoiding all the other good teams in their own confere
beast (21-Jan) : Also, with these "Super Conferences" instead of a single conference champion, have 4 teams make a Conference playoffs.
