Clearly Ted Thompson builds this team around Packer People. [palm] [neener]

I sure hope the Packers aren't building their team around Anthony Hargrove, I mean, they do have that guy at QB and that fella playing CB? ... what are their names?? Yeah, those guys, are who the team is built around far more than Hargrove.

I've seen some reaches on this board, but this one ... [duh]

Short of an amazing draft signing, I see no way that Anthony Hargrove won't be a starter this season. Who do you think would be higher than he on the depth chart? Wilson or Wynn?

You read way too much into the phrase "build around" anyway. My point is that Ted Thompson doesn't place nearly as high a premium on pristine character as some people think, and he has plenty of signings that prove this -- dating all the way back to Koren Robinson.

But how else is the term "build around" to be taken? I'm with Zero on this one. Signing depth on a ragged D-Line with a player that has hardly had seasons of leadership both in stats and tenure even is hardly a person one builds a team around.

Anthony Hargrove and Koren Robinson go against the "pristine character", but who else? I'm not trying to corner you, I'm asking because no one else comes to my pea sized brain at the moment. I want to say they drafted someone with a checkered past or someone who failed a drug test???

Ted Thompson is on record saying that players are people and make mistakes and sometimes need a change of scenery. When has he every said or even implied of the need of pristine character? Hell, when has the phrase "Packer People" ever been defined by anyone by the Packers????

Maybe I'm undervaluing Anthony Hargrove, but he hardly seems to me like any sort of an answer to the Packers DL issues. Thus, I don't think it'll take an amazing draft signing to replace him, or keep him from starting. I think a 3rd or 4th round selection with promise would suffice.

More on a personal note, you share a bed with two attractive women, just how the fuck are you still so damn argumentative all the time lol

This is probably very common, but his agent, Phil Williams, said Anthony Hargrove received a contract this morning via FedEx, signed it and returned it to the Packers address.

Seems odd to me to FedEx a contract.

Anthony Hargrove hinted a few days ago that he was going to sign with the Packers and the two sides have now made it official.

As my first post, I have to say I am really happy to see Hargrove signed.

In 2011 we had 4 DE's on our roster. Guy (who didn't play), Neal (who really didn't play), Wilson (did he play?), and Winn (played the first 3 games), collectively tallies 48 tackles and 3 sacks. Winn had the last of all three sacks for this group by week 3 v. CHI, then promptly disappeared. To me, this is alarming! I also find those numbers completely unacceptable, and they would make the very best secondary that anyone could put together look inept.

I would imagine this Anthony Hargrove signing will prove to be the very start of a complete makeover at DE for the Packers. Add Tollefson and 2 draft picks, and kiss the rest of them goodbye. Would any true Packer fan miss any of those starting 4 DEs from 2011?

I look forward to talking with you folks about our favorite team, and seeing us win another Superbowl this season!

Nick Barnett got a bad rap because of twitter, but he brought a different type of mentality to the defense. That style has been missing for quite some time. You can still play the game clean and bring an attitude at the same time. Look no further than Josh Sitton and the nastiness he brings to the offensive line. We need more guys like that on this team.
