Let the bidding war begin!

Steve Doerschuk of the Canton Repository writes the Browns brass “will make a play for Matt Flynn” with the hopes of making Flynn the team’s starter. They will have competition, though.

Well getting the Browns 22nd overall would probably get us Konz but it won't get us one of the three top pass rushers. I'd trade Flynn straight up for Cameron Wake though.

Looking at this trade it sucks ass for flynn but we could do some work with it.

Browns give us 22 - we combine 22 with 28 to trade up and get a top pass rusher.
Browns use 4 to draft blackmon to give Flynn some serious WR help.

im ok with that.

Cut Clifton, Driver, Collins, and restructure Chuckwood and go sign an established pass rusher, whether it be Calais Campbell, Mario Williams, or Cliff Avril. It's Capers job to make one of those players work in our scheme.

I don't believe for one minute Collins ever suits up again, and I hope he isn't stupid enough to risk paralysis to go out and try prove what he's already accomplished.

I've also heard Arrigo rumors that Hawk and Jones are fair game as trade bait in the draft.

We have some major holes to fill on defense, so I'm not sure on any of these guys. Last year I would have liked to seen a Ricky Williams deal for Von Miller though, and I would have been right.

Ted Thompson is awesome, lol. I can picture seasoned reporters laughing at the newbies trying to pry information from Ted Thompson.

Asked by a South Florida reporter if the team would potentially use the franchise tag on Flynn, Thompson replied: “I don’t talk specific about any of our guys that may or may not be free agents, and I certainly wouldn’t speculate on what our plans would be.”

When asked to talk about Flynn as a player given the small sample size – he started just two regular-season games – Thompson wouldn’t even say nice things about the unrestricted free agent.

“Well, he’s from East Texas, as I’m from East Texas as well, so that’s a good thing,” Thompson replied. “Yeah. Matt is a professional, he does a good job. Again, our policy is to try to keep all of our players, so we’d like to keep all our players. So I’m not going to stand here and tell all the other 31 teams what I think about Matt Flynn.”

How the hell are we going to trade Flynn when he isn't under contract?

No way in hell the Packer risk Flynn inking the Franchise tag just to pick up trade leverage.

I wish we could.. but that franchise number for the glory boy QB's just makes it unrealistic IMO.
