It would be pretty damn weird to have a college DT transfer to a 3-4 OLB in the NFL.

I'm not holding my breath though, I've already given up on Neal. We need to draft a 3-4 DE that can actually stay healthy this year, probably with our second pick.

Yeah, I don't like the idea of Neal at OLB at all. Sure, perhaps have a could packages where he's standing up like Jenkins did sometimes, but that's it. Assume that we will get nothing from him, but allow him time to continue to develop as a defensive linemen. It's likely his only shot, and I still think he can contribute to this team, even if it's nothing more than depth. I'm willing to change my opinion after next season, but hopefully he can at least provide some decent depth.

HUGE difference, H-U-G-E!! A coach can say that publicly, fine. But a PLAYER saying that? Sorry, that is not cool. You want the players to want to contribute, to make a difference on the field. Not just to be able to walk off after every play.

A player who's injured should be saying things like he's glad to be on the field and can't wait to make a difference and help the team win. Mike Neal, from other comments of his, has a defeated attitude.

Edit, that comparison really bugs me. Jermichael Finley was boasting about his YOTTO or whatever. He was talking about being the best TE in the game, etc... Mike McCarthy responding to that by saying they just wanted him to play in all the games this year and that was his only goal for Finley.

It's really annoying when people take something out of context and try using it in an argument as if it's identical.

As to Neal not talking all YOTTO-style, he was lucky he didn't end up on IR like both he and YOTTO himself did last year. His injury was THIS year. Finley's was LAST year. Talk about "out of context." [duh]

I 2nd that; neal at OLB? ... maybe only if he will pass rush everyplay ... I like the idea of a solid DE tall etc to play OLB like a jason piere paul type ... Think that guy could cover decent if he had too.

This says more about Green Bay's desperation at OLB than it does Mike Neal's athleticism.

Your overall tone in this post is unnecessary and disrespectful. I appreciate that you will reply more maturely in the future and I thank you for your cooperation as well as your understanding.

I'm not following the whole "talk about out of context" thing either, since it was you that brought up Finley in the first place. Perhaps a glance in the mirror is due? I'll do the same... brb.

I believe Mike Neal finished the 2010 season just the same as Finley, on Injured Reserve. I don't remember though. Then again, I don't even know why Finley is being mentioned at all, since the comments mentioned initially are completely different.

wpr (21-Jan) : Zero, no. If there were only 4 teams Ohio State would have been one of them. Boise St and ASU would not have been selected.
Zero2Cool (21-Jan) : So that was 7 vs 8, that means in BCS they never would made it?
Martha Careful (21-Jan) : A great game. Give ND credit for coming back, although I am please with the outcome.
