What's so laughable about 3 Super Bowl appearances and 2 rings in seven seasons? Your response will be he has had a great defense and run game. Guess what? Matt Ryan is built on the same principle, he's not a gunslinger who has thrown his team to victories. Neither of them have put up as big passing numbers as Peyton, Brady, Brees, Rodgers, or Rivers. There are some people who when evaluating QB's overemphasize winning and others who overemphasize passing stats. However Big Ben blows Matt Ryan out of the water in terms of winning, and is on par or above Ryan from a pure passing stats standpoint.

I watched all of Big Ben's Super Bowl appearances and I was not impressed with ANY of them.

Matt Ryan is younger and as of right now, has a lot more upside.

Someone I don't remember if it was you was advocating for Ryan being top 10 OVERALL, which is a joke, because if he is even or better than Ben (which I don't believe) he is not in the same league as Peyton, Brady, Rodgers, Brees and Rivers, just among QB's. Beyond that is he even clearly better than the Eli's, Schaub's, Flacco's or Romo's of the NFL? (Not saying that I necessarily think they are all better than Ryan, just that at first glance at least some of those QB's are of similar caliber).

I'd put Ryan above Eli, Romo and Schaub.. and on par with Flacco. But then, I've seen more of Eli and Romo and not as much Ryan, Schaub and Flacco. I look at stats and how the QB carries himself and his team in my judgement. Not what kind of jewelry he wears. But that's just me.

If you are forced to choose one of those two as your quarterback, you are going to have to assemble a dynamite defense.

I don't go by wins, because wins are a team stat. If you give the wins to the team and not the QB. Roethlisberger is not better than Ryan.
I want to go out like my Grandpa did. Peacefully in his sleep.
Not screaming in terror like his passengers.

beast (30-Jan) : College Coaches wouldn't want that publicly, as it would hurt recruiting and they might not get the job.
beast (30-Jan) : I thought they were supposed to publicly announce them, at least the NFL ones. Hafley was from college, so I believe different rules.
Mucky Tundra (30-Jan) : Who knows who they're interviewing? I mean, nobody knew about Hafley and then out of nowhere he was hired
beast (30-Jan) : I wonder what's taking so long with hiring a DL coach, 2 of the 3 known to interview have already been hired elsewhere.

Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Still HC positions available out there. I wonder if Hafley pops up for one
Zero2Cool (22-Jan) : Trent Baalke is out as the Jaguars GM.
dfosterf (22-Jan) : Jeff Hafley would have been a better choice, fortunately they don't know that. Someone will figure that out next off season
