Also at times when the team is emotional down. Drivers makes a great play to spark the offense to get moving. Jones has made some great catches as well but I don't remember one sparking up the team, but I remember a couple chances when he could of and dropped the pass...

Jones might be better long term numbers wise but Driver might be better emotionally for the team.

Exactly. We have an obligation to win nothing else. If Driver helps us win more games next season than Jones could throughout a future contract than so be it. Although im not so sure.

Pretty damn weak if you ask me.

Now I absolutely believe that YOU(and others) could care less about History, team chemistry, or player loyalty, fine, that's your opinion, but don't go try and make it mine.

A winning team needs veteran leadership, guys like DD who were taught the right way how to play the game, guys who can pass that knowledge on.

I get it Non-Stop, it's all about the money with you.

Thankfully when you strip away all the bullshit, when The Packers take the field on Sundays, there are still guys that go out there and just play the game of football because they love to play the game.

Team History, team chemistry, player loyalty be damned!!

Donald Driver isn't going anywhere, he may not be the best option, but he still has the talent and ability to play for The Packers.

It's my belief the Packers won it all last season because of chemistry. When you start throwing people around, you lose that. The Packers had a lot of injuries last season and it helped build chemistry later in the year.

I thought about this for a long time. I am torn because of my adoration for Driver. But I didn't see that from him this year, because he wasn't really needed for that. Jennings became the man and made the plays that sparked the team. I think you walk a fine line of keeping a veteran guy in the locker room for the sake of their emotion when their play is trending the wrong way. Jones clearly surpassed Driver this year. Team chemistry can be just as affected when a dead weight is kept around for sentimental reasons while trending talent is let go. I am not calling Driver dead weight yet, but the talent evaluation will be done and feelings may be hurt this fall.

I do care about team chemistry, but I disagree that Driver being gone would destroy that chemistry. His legacy can be just as powerful without him there as a player.

I think it was pretty damned obvious to anyone who read the thread that I was being ironically facetious about this. Why do you get so emotionally wrapped up in it?

And for the record, it is NOT about the money for me. If I had my way, the players wouldn't make a tenth what they make. The business side of things annoys the hell out of me. But to potentially sacrifice a few victories in the name of an illusory sense of loyalty makes no sense to me. I want to win. I want the players who will ensure this team wins.

I don't understand why people feel sorry for these overprivileged people. If they get cut by one team and have anything left in the tank at all, they can get picked up by another team within days. See: Owens, Terrell.

I believe chemistry is important as well. However, I think this team is mature enough from top to bottom to maintain the same level of chemistry with or without Driver, especially with players like Rodgers, Jennings, Nelson, Mathews, Woodson, Williams, Raji, etc. etc. etc. That's not much of a concern for me. All players want to win above most other things. Winning playoff games and super bowls will build chemistry with this team even without some of our current players.

My main thing is not that I want Driver gone. Far from it. I would just hate to lose Jones to keep Driver. Maybe it's not like that at all. Great! That would be ideal, but it is a slight concern of mine. I was really pissed off at Jones for a little while, but I think I'm over it now. All players drop passes, but the dude is super talented and there aren't many # 2 and 3 CB's in the league that can handle this guy.

Although if we do lose him, it's not the end of the world. Rodgers will make many WR's look better than they are more than likely.

beast (8-Aug) : It's a new rule, so it's not clear, but my understanding was that they could be IR'd at any time
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : *had to be IRed at 53
Mucky Tundra (8-Aug) : beast, I thought the designate return from IR players had to be IR at cutdowns to 53, not before
beast (8-Aug) : It's a brand new rule, either last season or this season, prior, all pre-season IRs were done for the season
beast (8-Aug) : But the Packers would have to use one for their return from IR spots on him, when they cut down to 53.
beast (8-Aug) : I think the NFL recently changed the IR rules, so maybe the season might not be over for OL Glover.
Zero2Cool (8-Aug) : Packers star Howton, first NFLPA prez, dies at 95 😔
dfosterf (8-Aug) : Apparently it is too complicated for several to follow your simple instructions, but I digress

Mucky Tundra (6-Aug) : Travis Glover placed on IR; seasons over for him
Zero2Cool (6-Aug) : found bad sql in database, maybe site faster now?
dfosterf (5-Aug) : I'm going to call that a good move.
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Packers sign CB Corey Ballentine
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : I'm not sure how to kill the draft order just yet so it's not so confusing.
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : *to be able
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : and because it's not a dynasty league (which makes a lot more sense to be ability to trade picks)
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Oh I know; I was just exploring and it blew my mind that you could trade picks because of the whole reordering thing
Mucky Tundra (4-Aug) : Zero, I think I preferred my offer: your 1st for my 15th rounder
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : Keep in mind, we do a draft reorder once all members locked in
Zero2Cool (4-Aug) : You can have my 12th Rd for your 2nd round
