For the record, Nick Barnett and the IR players should all be in the team photo. I completely agree that they are apart of the Green Bay Packers. However, a few of them have done a terrible job of handling the situation. Obviously, I am talking about Barnett.

AADP, I have to disagree that Aaron Rodgers is equally to blame.

First, someone asked a question and he clearly chose his words carefully in answering. If you read what he said, he was in essence saying that the 53 guys in the locker room have formed a unique bond throughout this experience.

Apparently, that hurt Barnett's feelings, so he tweets several messages about it.

It is worth noting that Rodgers along with Charles Woodson went to Mike McCarthy and got Barnett in the team photo.

I'm sorry, but Barnett has to separate his feelings from reality. Instead, of complaining on twitter, he should be motivated. Seeing his teammates succeed as they have should serve as inspiration for him to achieve this as well.

I understand Rodgers brought the issue back by answering the reporter's question, but context is everything. The context of Rodgers' statement wasn't about bringing guys like Barnett or Jermichael Finley down. It was more about what the 53 guys on the active roster have experienced.

Obviously, Barnett did not see it that way, which is disappointing. Instead of being motivated about his future, he is complaining about the present. Im sure he means well, but he is being reckless, which says as much about twitter as anything.

Great post, porky. Either way this issue is not something any player or fan wanted this week. I hope that this is not a main focus in the media day questions because I want to enjoy everything this week. Knowing the media, the only two questions players will get will be photo conspiracy and Favre questions. :pukeright:

Frankly, I'm not happy with her line of questioning at all. AR was put in an impossible position with that question:

"Aaron, do you feel for the IR guys, and Im not talking about the photo thing, do you feel bad that they arent able to take part in this?"

If he responds yes, it could become a bash-McCarthy party for not bringing the IR guys down earlier than Thur, and if he says no, then he p*sses off the IR guys. If she did not mean to put AR in that situation, then she sucks as a reporter. If she did mean to put AR in it, then she sucks for other reasons...

Exactly.

In the next 2 weeks, I'm hoping MM is having the players focus on the Steelers, playing our strengths, taking advantages of their weaknesses, etc.

Last thing we need is a distraction.

So I'll second "Go Pack Go!"

More Packer photo fallout: Jermichael Finley responds to Rodgers

The Green Bay Packers team picture controversy is still not going away, as tight end Jermichael Finley has now joined linebacker Nick Barnett in taking to Twitter to say quarterback Aaron Rodgers was wrong to criticize injured players who didnt rehabilitate in Green Bay.

Immediately after Barnett hit back at Rodgers on Twitter, Finley weighed in with a tweet of his own, siding with Barnett: @NickBarnett TRUE FACTS RIGHT THERE.

A few hours later Finley added, For my followers that want to know why im rehabbing in AZ, bc I get the top of the line training. Its YOTTO folks. Think before yall speak. Fans listen, I love u all, and have been working my tail off 5 hrs a day since I have arrived in Arizona. I love the packers. Everyone in the NFL knows that this is a business and if I dont take care of my body to be Best player than I can be, then I wont even be around to win a Super Bowl in the future. Im a packer for life, AROD is my guy!

Its amazing that something as seemingly trivial as a team picture has become a source of such controversy this week, but these are the things that happen during the week off before the Super Bowl. And every player on the Packers needs to know that every word he speaks (or tweets) on the subject will be amplified by the thousands of members of the NFL media who dont have much else to write about this week.

Actually Finley HAS been with the team and on the sidelines for at least two games Giants and Bears. That's just coming from his tweets before the games. Barnett I have no clue.

Sure? this is from the article posted on this page

The 15 players on injured reserve are Barnett, Finley, safety Morgan Burnett, linebacker Brandon Chillar, running back Ryan Grant, defensive end Justin Harrell, tight end Spencer Havner, linebacker Brad Jones, safety Derrick Martin, defensive end Mike Neal, offensive lineman Marshall Newhouse, linebacker Brady Poppinga, safety Anthony Smith and right tackle Mark Tauscher.

While its unclear how many games each of those players attended, Tauscher, Grant and Neal were around the most, based on how often they were seen on the sideline at games and in the locker room.

Burnett was also spotted frequently. Tauscher and Grant also attended road games, and Grant said the only reason he missed the Atlanta playoff game was because he was sick and didnt want to infect the team

Among the players who werent seen around the facility or at games very often were Poppinga, Chillar, Havner, Harrell and Barnett and Finley. Finley Tweeted openly about being in Scottsdale, Ariz., at his offseason home for most of his rehab.

At least Finley didn't say anything bad...

But I can only imagine what McCarthy is thinking right now...

His attitude has to go way down, especially now he knows that the team signed bishop a 4 year deal. He should be with the team all the time to make sure he still makes it next year.

Too much has been made over it. Do I think Barnett did the right thing? No. Did I think Rodgers did the right thing? No to that too.

Since the Favre issue, Rodgers has been the "good guy," seemingly mastering all of his statements with the media to the point where he can't break anybody.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news?slug=ms-twoquestions012611  It provides a fair perspective of the situation -- and this was before A-Rod's comments.

You can't call someone out just because they aren't on the sideline. Gimme a break. Barnett's injury is to his hand, and he left it to the coaches to make the decision to put him on IR. He wanted to come back, and he could've, but he risked permanent damage to his hand. Think about any of your hands and what you'd do without one. Think about carrying a newborn child with only one hand. You can call Barnett a pussy for taking the IR option with an injury like that, and I love football as much as anyone, but your well-being has to take precedence.

Every NFL team has a training staff, and they're all fairly small. If the Packers had like 4 or 5 guys on IR, I bet Barnett would've stayed. This isn't the case. There's 17 players on IR, and you have to add the 53 players already on the team, and the players we have on the Practice Squad. That's more than 75 men the training staff has to take care of, and the injuries that take less time to cure are the ones they tend to first--that way they can get them back on the field.

So you're Nick Barnett, and you know you won't be back until next season, and not only will your teammates not pay much attention to you, but neither will the doctors.

He had to go home.
