I see. At the risk of being blugeoned, what don't you like about Colinsworth? Although I acknowledge that he's pretentious I've always felt that he and Billick offer some of the best analysis of formations and rationale for coaching decisions as anyone.

I used to like Collinsworth, actually.

But now? No way. Three things bug me:

1. He got what I call John Madden Disease. John Madden used to be the best color guy in football. Then he became famous. Then he became a wind up yakkity yakkity yak doll. Collinsworth has it bad. He's not yet in Theisman territory, but he's getting closer all the time. Like most guys in most booths (which is why I don't believe there is an NFL announcer today that ranks above a C), he simply talks way too much.

2. He's a bully. Several games I've seen him do he goes off on a third stringer or a substitute who's getting toasted. Again and again and again.

Okay, I know part of his job as color guy is to point out where people are screwing up. That's fine. But any moron can pick a backup who is half a step away from the inactive list and say he's making mistakes. There are reasons why a team's 45th player is often not the same every week.

3. And when he's not bullying some poor schmo who's been thrown into the fire, he's doing the other part of the John Madden disease: myopia on the "names." Admittedly, in this respect he's better than the average; but when the average is set by ESPN trolls, that's like saying its okay to have a couple fingernails pulled out as long as they leave your toes alone.

Rock loves him, of course. Proving yet again that even the smartest of us (yes, I mean you, Rock, you young smarter-than-me person, you) fuck up when it comes to love.

:)
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

Okay you made me do it.

Joe Buck and Troy Aikman did the following games:

@Eagles (week 1) Win
@ Redskins (week 5) Loss
@ the cursed vikling pukebags (week 11) Win
Giants (week 16) Win
Bears (Week 17) Win
@ Eagles (Wild Card Weekend) Win

The Packers are 5-1 with Buck and Aikman this season.

I find the two to be very biased against the Packers.

I don't know about Buck, but Aikman's bias against GB is transparent.

Randy Cross. All time worst and biggest joke of an announcer.

He offered virtually no constructive insight to the game with his simplistic analysis which came off to me as either an insult to the viewer's intelligence, or suggested that he had lost his marbles.

This should be chiseled on Madden's tombstone.

Is Fox carrying the SB this year? Just curious, because if so, that would mean 6 straight Packers games called by Buck/Aikman if we make it there. :microwave:

I thought Madden was pretty good in his earlier days. He got too goofy toward the end, though. He kind of turned into a clown. But even then, I thought he still offered some good insights at least occasionally.
