Why cut anyone, just renegotiate Hawk and cut Poppinga. You need 8 guys that can play. What a problem to have!

And Zero, what, my word isn't good enough you link monger?

I think that Hawk will gladly re-work his deal. With any other player I'd be worried about his PB alternate selection, as that would indicate he might want a nice fat payday, but as he already got a good one I think he'd take the chance at continued success and continuity over jumping to another team for more coin.

If he does, then Barnett is the expendable guy - which sucks because I really love the way he's played in GB, but at some point they're going to have to make the tough decision. It's not fair, but seeing Hawk and Bishop paired inside, they've got to be the starters there next year.

I don't know if Barnett can be an OLB at this point in his career with what they are sometimes aske to do, he isnt the most athletic.

However, I hope that AJ can find it in his heart to restructure because I think he has played really well this year.

There will be a rush OLB or two left in the draft when we pick.

Does anyone think Hawks high level of play lately could be attributed in part to the play of Bishop? In other words, how much of Hawks play lately can be due to Bishop playing at a higher level than Barnett? Impossible to quantify I'm sure, but still interesting to ponder.

Good point on Poppinga, Dakota. He's too small for the DL, but too stiff and unathletic in coverage or to move around in the run game at LB. I forgot that he was still around and what a hindrance he was to the defense.

Barnett at this point in his career is becoming very injury prone, i'm surprised this isn't mentioned more often, but he's only played 29 out of 48 games in the last 3 years and been on IR twice in that time.

At this point, I would go with Hawk(if he will restructure his deal, and I think he will) and Bishop, if for no other reason than reliability, both of these guys are very rarely hurt.

But I also like the idea of getting rid of Poppinga above all, the guy is certainly overpaid for a 2nd/3rd string OLB, esp when we have guys like Zombo and Walden who not only have more potential but simply outperform the guy.

Barnett at 3-4 OLB is ridiculous, and would never work out.

He had his times, but with Bishop-Hawk and Chillar backing them up, I think it's time to move on.

Nice to see Ted locking up more of our up and coming guys before they get to the open market.

Barnett is due 6 and 6.5 over the next 2 years.

Chillar is due 2, 2.7, and 3 over the next 3 years.

AJ is younger and way less nicked up then Barnett, and from what I can tell, loves GB.

I don't think we witness anymore dumbass samurai swinging in Lambeau. Thanks for the memories Nick, maybe we can make you a draft day trade.

Yeah, I think Barnett will be the odd guy out.
