The win-win agreement locks up outside linebacker Preston Smith beyond the 2022 season while helping the salary cap immediately.

If you look at Preston's career, he seems to do well in odd years and then more average numbers in even years.

It'll be interesting to see if they grab another pass rusher, maybe in the draft.

Preston has frustrated me. He seems to take plays/games off then reappears when needed. Overall I am glad he;s back. The Packers can't get by with just Gary. My biggest frustration with Preston is he seems to try to jump the snap count. Until I went back and looked I thought he was flagged for being offside nearly every game. He may be offside but they don't toss the flag. My guess is he isn't lined up right on the line. He must he a half step back to when he jumps the gun he hasn't crossed the line. Tv camera optical illustion.
