I fully expect Aaron understands his importance to the team, however, I'm a firm believer in ACTIONS speak louder than words.

I don't care that he says he should slide. I want to SEE him slide after getting the first down.

I can be cool with him diving for a first in a close game. Show some grit, for sure. But he had no business NOT sliding on that play, in my thoughts.

btw, I'm smart and do stupid shit too. Just because you're smart doesn't mean you do everything perfect or that you have no room for improvement.

Fair point, but what I meant is that Aaron has shown himself to understand the game. He can think fast, analyze, and respond to live game situations well. Surely, after (his own admission) getting dinged against he Cowboys when choosing not to slide and being told by his coaches to slide, he'd actually slide when the time came.

Perhaps his competitiveness got the better of him.

I feel that he doesn't slide for similar reasons that Burt is notorious for forcing dumb throws...I get the impression that he feels he needs to carry the team on his back, and unfortunately after today it appears that it's true.

He does need to carry the team on his back. Well, the offense anyway.

Understanding the game is not taking a dive 5+ yards after you've gained a first down. That's just not a smart move. There's no way you can tell me it was a wise decision (not that you are). There's no excuse for it. He had the first, he had PLENTY of room to slide.

Yes, the fact that Aaron Rodgers had similar problems is also concerning. On the other hand, Quarless fumbled a pass and Jennings sort of gave up on another potential touchdown pass, so it's not like his receivers were doing him any favors.

I certainly wasn't implying that the offensive struggles were ARods' fault...just that the there were myriad problems with the offense today that Flynn seemed to inherit.

What problems did he have? Jennings not catching the ball when he had a step on his defender? Quarless fumbling? The OL playing like high schoolers?

Rodgers play was fine today. He was 7 of 11 and one of those four incompletions should have been caught and nullified his interception.

Now, his decision to dive instead of slide was critically dumb in my opinion. He's human, he made a mistake. I hope it doesn't merit any long term effects on him and he's able to come back next week and torch the Patriots weak secondary.

"Similar problems" meant nothing more or less than that the Packers offense scored 0 points while he was at the helm.
