BTW, the call on Jenkins roughing Warner was correct. YES he was blocked into Warner, but he was called for roughing because he swatted at Warner's face.

I AGREE that the Cards should have been called for roughing a few times, but the call on Jenkins was correct.

I'm just saying i'm not going to be like some other teams fans and blame the refs for the loss is all i am saying. It was a very exciting game at the end and i am pleased to have Rodgers as our QB for the next 5-7 years.

Totally agree. Except I think Rodgers could last more than 7 more years, supposing we fix our OL 🙂

i agree it was a correct call but what about the HOLD on jenkins that caused that to begin with? Even Troy "i dont know what the hell im saying sometimes" Aikman said it was a hold, oh well everyone counted the pack out after the Fitz TD and im glad they came back but the Defense was lost out there even Capers when they showed him on camera was lost..

Jenkins was held on the play where his hand swatted Warner. Should have been offsetting.

If I recall correctly, the Packers got the benefit of some calls in the first half.

And of course, the cardinals (lower case, intentional) got a couple big ones at the end.

But I'm convinced that complaining about the officials is a rube's game. If you're a good team, you should be able to overcome a couple bad calls. Either after they are made or, in the case of those two at the end of this game, before they are made.

A good enough team doesn't get taken to overtime this way. A good enough team doesn't depend on the officials getting all the calls right, any more than it depends on every player playing mistake-free football.

A good enough team wins despite occasional mistakes. A good enough team is one made up of human beings, and human beings make mistakes. A good enough team overcomes.

This just isn't a good enough team yet.

I'm not going to crow about being right about this team going one and out, because, quite frankly, the last nine games have shown this team to be a lot better than I thought it was.

They're just not good enough yet. And that, nothing else, is why they lost.

But they're real close. Minnesota fans better hope that Favre takes them to the promised land this year, because they're going to have real problems getting back to the top of the division next year.

IMO, the Packers lost against the Cardinals for one reason and one reason only. They're just not good enough.

Yet.
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

That's all well and good, Wade. But Rodgers has taken an incredibly high number of hits to the head etc. this season and yesterday's game was the culmination of that. Not getting the calls all year was frustrating. Not getting two blatant calls in OT in the playoffs is enough to send me over the deep end. Regardless of what we could have done to win the game, the refs made it a point to protect the quarterbacks, AND to protect against head injuries, and they continually fail to do so with Rodgers. It's bullshit and I don't feel like a "rube" for saying it.

Anybody have a screen capture or picture of the helmet to helmet hit in OT?

mass - rodgers wasn't the only qb who had alot of roughing up this season. i think it was the redskins game we were watching - they let that qb get the crap beat outta him - late hits, facemasks, & head hits - not ONE call against the defense though.

between that & them NOT blowing the f'in whistle when a play is CLEARLY over, i'm amazed that more players didn't get seriously injured this season.

wait - we're talking packers now though...even my vikings fan husband couldn't believe the non-call on the head hit & he's the one who saw the facemask on the final play. he called BS - big time!

not that it matters a bit now...we lost to a team because they scored last. i don't believe for one second that the cardinals are better than us. we had an uninspired start, an amazing middle, & almost won it in the end.

"It is what it is," Woodson said. "I don't cry about those things. Could they have called it? Probably. But I just give those guys credit. They made the plays they needed to make. And that's the bottom line."
