I don't get it anything they did it worked. I can't seem to realize what our defensive problems we're. We couldn't stop the run / nor tackle so does this mean our defense has been exploited (the middle) or just having a bad / terrible game?

What fixes do you guys suggest?

Gaps over the middle are the area to be exploited in zone (cover-2) D. That's been evident all TC, when reporters constantly stated that Rodgers attacked this D right in the middle of the field. Warner's an experienced player, so I'm sure that factored into it.

But our problem was we couldn't do anything on D. Couldn't stop the run early, couldn't tackle properly, and we were having problems with DBs/LBs losing players releasing from trips (bunch) formation. That isn't scheme, that's a downright communication problem.

Not stopping the run means Capers is not going release his blitz packages. He just won't do it unless he knows you won't run, and there is some merit to that.

Why we played THIS poorly.... I don't know. But I really want to read what Capers has to say... his view will be intriguing to say the least.

Any given sunday, really. The Oline from Arizona executed their blocks which stopped our rush. Just like when we give Rodgers time it isn't because a team is playing different, it us just how things played out.

Yup...we didn't generate any pressure at all on Warner even though we were blitzing. No way you're going to beat a QB that good when you do that.

Agreed on all points all_about_da_packers... Add our non existent pass rush with shit for pressure and you have it summed up completely.

I'm all for giving players the benefit of the doubt, but to me your response PFWT is just a cop out (with all due respect to you, because you are an insightful poster).

We missed tackles, early. We couldn't stop the run early. Players were releasing without anyone covering them. A play in the 4th Q where Breaston caught the ball one-handed over Tramon... I can live with because that happens "any given Sunday"....

But our performance this game was downright bad.

we do not have the correct personnel for our defense yet. Until Ted Thompson spends some money, it will be a couple of years to all are acclimated to Capers defense.
this was stated at the beginning of the season. We had good games and bad games on defense. This tonight was a bad game, but I think Arizona did a great job last week of not showing us anything last week and we fell for it.

I don't know what you mean in terms of not having the personnel. You've gotta elaborate on that... we've got the biggest D-Line in the NFL, our ILBs have been solid, our Safties have been solid, and we've got the rightful DPOY at CB with an underrated starter in Tramon.

Heck, our only pass rush was provided by a stud in Clay Mathews. Not sure what you want in terms of players....

Agree..we still need a pass rusher to compliment Matthews but overall I think we have the players necessary to succeed with this scheme. Of course improvements will be needed to become a REAL #1 defense but I don't agree that we will need a couple of years to find the right personnel.
